I'm not creating an argument for or against game passes to play online, but the other day I had a thought. Say for example, you bought a used copy of Dead Space 2 for example (It's the only example of a game that needed one that I have) either way, you bought it used, and want to take it online, so you pay for the pass, but get online to find out that there are no other players ever online? What do you do? Can you do anything or have you just lost your money?

As much as I don't have a problem with online passes, in that particular event I would say yeah, you just lost your money.

Luckily this hasn't happened to me yet, or anyone I know, but I feel it's only a matter of time. Has anyone had this come up? If so, what did you do?

Not entirely serious, maybe.

Sounds like a valid concern, but one could always look online to see if there's an active community for the game in question before buying any online passes.

Although I don't own any games that use online passes at the moment, I have looked online to see if a game I was interested in getting still had an online community.
