Do you game using a PS3? Recommend a headset? My PS3s are in good parts of the house (due to Bluray) and I'd like to try the free online stuff. Any good? I've heard that Xbox is better.

I haven't really used PC either, though I am set up for it. Got this:

I very rarely use online. I've had Xbox live since 2006 but now my Xbox is in a lonely part of the house, rarely used and never for online. If I let my account go silver, do you know if I'll lose any/all functionality of my PC on live for windows games? Halo Reach, which I haven't finished, appears to load from the web. Will it still work?
Your advice is appreciated.
EDIT: Uh oh, saw these Razor Megalodons which are wired and am thinking, maybe I can deal with wired. Depends on how long the cord is.
