Now don't tell me that you all act the same IRL as you do when playing online multi-player. (or in the forum at the Escapist)
How do you want to be perceived by others online? How do you attempt to establish your 'online persona'?
Do you have a different personality for different games or genres (MMORPG or FPS etc.)?

Oh and I realise that commenting in this thread is in itself a paradox as you will be revealing the truth about yourself but using your 'online persona' which means that you cannot really trust anything you say (and nor can anyone else)... just try not to cause a disruption in the space-time continuum.

Pretty much the same, except I have more a deathly fear of people taking my image and rule 34'ing it. And I am more aggressive in GoW. I mean in real life I wouldn't touch a chainsaw machine gun

I'm generally the same throughout everywhere, on the internet and in real life.
Except I don't wear a hockey mask in real life.
[small]I should probably stop doing that..[/small]

I'm pretty much the same, but if I'm a dick to someone online I don't care as much as I would in real life. Actually I really don't care at all when I'm a dick to someone online. So I don't act any differently, it's just my feelings for that act aren't as rooted to it as it normally would be.

I don't a think game-play style translates well to personality assessment. I'm not tanking in the pub, nor am I buffing. In truth, I'm probably stealth/assassin class in real life, relatively quiet until I unleash a devestating quip, then disappear back into my pint. I'm more competetive playing games (especially online) than when I'm sat watching TV, but the things I say on here I could well say to my mates, if they ever remotely cared this much about gaming. Which they don't...

In real life, I only attempt to be funny and fail at it to my friends.
I fail at being funny to everyone on the internet.

I'm more talkative online than I am in person. That's really the only difference I can find.
In an online game, I prefer to not use a mic because I hate talking into things.

Hey! I'm the TIME PARADOX guy!

Well, in real life, I'm quite the douchebag. Really.

Which rather differs from online where I try to be as civil as possible, as that is only fair to you lot.

I'm far more sarcastic in real life, I'm not really sarcastic on the internet because we all know THAT turns out well.

Hm. I think I wear a 'persona' less on forums then I do on MMORPGs.
On MMORPGs I tend to act... strangely nicer then I do IRL. o_O
Haha, funny how that works. I guess I'm better at holding my tongue if I have to take the time to write it down.
But one thing similar to my behavior IRL and online is that I like 'mentor' those younger then me. =P Just can't get rid of it.
Must come from being the oldest sibling in my family.

I just not as ready to open my mouth IRL, but then again I don't realy want to look like a dick by interupting others conversation, while these forums are more open.

I'm roughly the same.
But perhaps I shouldn't be that honest on the internets...

Depends on what time you talk to me and how long it has been since I medicated last.

Only thing I can guarantee you is that if you are one of those colossal douches who mention their self-diagnosed arseburgers in conversation, I will take a condescending tone and mock you incessantly until you either go away or cry like a little *****.

Sorry I didn't realise...
Probably because of the unnatural distortion of time that eventuates from the continuing implementation of threads that have such time warping potential. (Its your fault)
Anyway... I thought it would be the other way round. You can be a douchebag anywhere on the internet and people can't hit you.

You'd think that, wouldn't you?
I'm a smart-arsed git in real life, who confuses people, and I do incredibly strange things.

Probably the only change is that I'm a lot more angry when gaming. If somebody does something stupid I will yell at them and berate them just for the laughs.
