When we started texting, we usualy abreviated words to save time and such. That has obviously transfered to the online world (more specifically the FPS online world) with such words as "Frag","Naded","No Scoped","Noob","Fag", and other comments; positive or negative.

What terms do you use/hear the most from other players? Hell, did you even make a term up that only you and your friends use?

I think i've just made up a term yesterday on CoD4, as i called someone a "Popper". Basically, i guess you could say a "Popper" is someone who stays in one place like a car or behind a garbage can (similar to a spawn-killer) and every time they see someone they "pop" our and either knife them or shoot them and go back to the spot.

The example would be the yesterday experience, I was walking along with grenades flying everywhere when all of a sudden i'm shot with a shotgun. I see the kill cam and the person was prone, in the bushes, and pops out to shoot me with the shotgun, and prones back. Now, due to the stupid game not being able to spawn me anywhere else, i had no choice but to move the same (if not similar) place where he kept on killing me.

Another term my friends made up is Smash-whore, or for my more narrow-minded friends, Smash-stitue. You can figure it out (hint, has something to do with a smash ball)

A new one for Team Fortress 2 as of the Gold Rush update would be medi-tack, medi-nore, and Team Medi. Seriously, do you know how hard it is to get a medic on TF2 despite 3/4 of the server is made of medic?

Medi-tack is Medic Attack.

Medi-nore is ignoring Medic.

Team Medi is a team of just Medic. Now, It's hilarious when it's a team of Scouts using just the bat. Or a team of Spies trying to sneak behind enemy lines. But a team of Bonesaw-using Medics?

I don't know if it's really on topic...

but I think there needs to be a law that it's perfectly acceptable to punch anyone in the face who says the word "lawl" or "roffle"

But then again, I just hate those shortcuts period, except for the obvious terms that have just become terminology for a game, like fragging, camping, and whatnot.

(Oh, and saying "mumorpeg" isn't cute, so stop. Who's with me?)

"Popper" sounds more like "Camping" to me.

I'm pretty sure that SSBB is going develop a whole dictionary of terms in the coming months. I am admittedly a Smash-whore. But I also admit to a "ledger", a person who purposely finds a corner to sit at on the map and avoid being faught. Some maps have great hiding places.

Supposedly, a student wrote an essay on this "behavior", and gave the teacher two copies: the original, and one that was written shorthanded with all the internet lingo you could ever include. Both got an A.

Well, i guess a "Popper" wouldn't be sitting next to a spawn point. It's basically what snipers do, only with weapons other than snipers. Also, the result of the "Popper" killing me was probably because i was too frustrated to go the alternate route :p
