You're doing some quite good things. Keep it up.

Root

P.S. Kill off some of the online activation, hat fetishes and get some proper customer support in and I'll mark you higher.

(Hey, if there's a bandwagon going on, climb aboard ;))

Less Steam sales, please. I'm trying to not go bankrupt, but the sales are making it quite hard.
Especially when the sales are for games from developers that I actually like and/or follow. Which makes it even harder to not spend tons of money.

I'd like to add something.

When we set games to "never update", can we get some sort of notice that says they're ready to be updated? Like an asterisk next to the game's name? Or just add an option so that we approve the update before it starts. You know, like a screen pops up saying "Update available for this game!", then it shows what the update add/changes, and gives us the option of whether or not to install it.

Would just make things much, much, much better.

I was planning on coming onto this thread with the intention of ranting that y'all need to get your own ideas. This actually made me smile. Nice one :L

You never know, Gabe Newell could be blundering around this site.

He could even be me.

I applaud you good sir, that gave me quite a giggle.

I guarantee you, now, in Valve's secret underground Head Quarters, Newell has seen this and smiled...

[sub]... and then he clicks on Critical Miss and gives in to his diabolical side[/sub]

unless YOU, root, are teh Gabe and this is all some marketing buzz to confound your enemies and reinforce Steam's stronghold over the PC community, shielding your true persona by mocking the hats and CS, or your having a sly jab at your enemies, or he is actually Bobic, as stated above, and, and, Oh I've gone all cross eyed.

He speaks the truth. Consider that a post post script. Or a dessert. :)

Edit: No, really, can someone please explain this thread..?
The OP is sick of the current pretentious "open letters" to various devs telling them how much they suck, so he's trying to counter balance it somewhat.

It made me laugh.

Oh it's a joke!

<--- Feels like a douche now for calling people out in other threads for taking things too seriously

I agree, kind of. All my problems with them are more with how their games are treated by fans, but whatever.

Hey Mr. Root, I never noticed you had some many posts, yet you joined only like seven months before me. You post a hella lot.

I gotta agree with the customer support comment. It seems to be the one aspect of their business that they fail at. Exchanging emails with them is like pulling teeth. Also if they would just be a little more vocal about why they are having delays or problems, it would probably make a lot of people calm down about it.

Like during the Left 4 Dead 2 demo release, I don't know about anyone else, but personally I would rather they have come right out and said it could be as long as another week before it's ready and tell us why, than for them to keep pushing it back another six hours only to disappoint everyone over and over again. There's no reason for this except for pure laziness on their part.
