So watching through the E3 livestreams, I noticed something really odd. Is it me, or do a large majority of the games showcased at E3 and heading to next-gen consoles, seem to be open world or sandbox? To rattle a few off the top of my head- The Crew, Destiny, Mad Max, Metal Gear V, Assassin's Creed 4, Watch Dogs, InfamouSS, The Division and a tonne of MMOs.
What to people think of this? Good/bad? Will more games turn to the sandbox style of game?

I think it's generally good, as long as what's in those worlds are entertaining to engage with gameplay-wise. No sense in having a huge sandbox, if there's not much of or anything interesting to do. I could see some travel fatigue though. There was a lot of transport stuff in the Metal Gear trailer.
