This weekend's multiplayer event is announced. Link to the event. [http://blog.bioware.com/2012/03/28/operation-raptor/]

Here are the details:
Friday, March 30 ? Sunday, April 1

The Reaper horde is growing, so we must as well. Effective military strength needs to increase, and veterans must train conscripts so that they, in turn, can train others.

Allied Goal: Promote 150,000 characters. Victory Packs awarded to all players upon successful completion.
Individual Goal: Promote 2 characters. Commendation Pack awarded to individual players upon successful completion.

Welcome to the next N7 Multiplayer Weekend!

Last weekend our community operatives united to train a record number of new recruits. The time has come to turn these new recruits into battle-hardened veterans.

Join the war against the Reapers online between 5PM PST Friday, March 30th to 5AM PST Monday, April 2nd and promote at least 2 characters to your single player campaign.

This operation includes PC and Xbox 360; we are continuing to work with Sony to enable these types of Operations on the PlayStation 3 platform. We appreciate your patience, and we expect an update later this week regarding Operation Raptor and the PlayStation 3.

Commendation Packs will be awarded to individual soldiers who complete their training, and a Victory Pack will be awarded to everyone if the Allied Goal is achieved. Packs will be available to download the following week. Please note that participants need to set ?Upload Gameplay Feedback? to ?on? in the online options to be able to participate in Operation RAPTOR.

*Some restrictions may still apply, Operation Raptor is not open in all regions. Due to restrictions on the PlayStation 3 platform, we are unable to offer Operation Raptor to our PlayStation 3 users. We apologize for this inconvenience and we will continue to work with Sony to extend our weekend Operations to the community. Thank you.
So PS3 users are out of this again. What exactly is the restriction they are referring to?
Anyway, what are you thoughts on this? I haven't promoted any characters so far, and still would rather not. I might grind up the two classes I hate playing and then promote them (Sentinel and Soldier). They are pretty close to level 20 anyway. I'm already level 20 in every other class, but would rather not start those over (especially when I have tons of respec cards).

Grrr. I actually have promoted quite a bit, to the point where I'm sick of it. But I guess I can promote a soldier and something else easy to level like a Vanguard.

I think the PS3 issue is that there is something about PSN that prevents the reporting of statistics to BioWare.

Personally, I think resetting and rebuilding a character is a lot of fun.

I've promoted a lot.

My N7 rank is in the 300's.

But i'm on PS3 so miss out on another weekend. Plus multiplayer is starting to lose it's appeal now. It gets a bit "samey" after a while.

I have two characters lined up and waiting to be promoted once the Operation starts. It will be kind of shitty have 3 classes under level 10 for awhile though >.>

Guess I'll be promoting my Infiltrator and Engineers again hehe Oh well, I love the Engineer class enough (and still am looking for appearance options for my Quarian Eng) so it won't be tough at all to do it all over again.

Promoted each class once so far, though now that I have found "optimal" builds and acquired a few "reset powers", I see no reason to. I'll reset 3 this weekend, though. Fucked up my Asari Adept and my Human Female Adept pretty bad. Same with my Quarian Infiltrator and Salarian Engineer.

So, 3 promotions of the 150k will be mine.

I'm gonna be promoting Soldiers and Vanguards. Both are currently 17 and neither are classes that I enjoy using. Really the only 3 classes I like using are Turian Sentinel, Human or Quarian Infiltrator, and Quarian Engineer (though I've been meaning to give the Salarian and that unbelievably useful Decoy of his a try).

:p My point is that having 3 classes under 10 isn't a big deal seeing as how vanguards and soldiers can essentially be written off...at least in my book they can.

As for the OP, gotta say I wish we had another targeted killing operation. They should make it interesting and have an operation against armored units. Have the community have to kill like, 5 million units that have an "Armor" bar. So that's banishes, Geth Pyros, Geth Primes, Brutes, Ravagers, Turrets, and Atlases (and anything else I missed).

My vanguard is ready to go and my soldier is level 17. With them reset I guess I will try adept out.

...you still exist?
Can I poke you?

The Salarian Engie is the best class, even suboptimally built. I challenge anyone who disagrees to a drinking contest.

Go ahead and poke me, but I don't check my Facebook. BA DUM TISH

Salarian Engineer is fucking awesome on Gold, but I prefer my Human on Silver/Bronze for Chain Overload. Stun 3 people at once and your team can get free shots in. And the unchangeable mapping of the Salarian is awful. FUCKING Y/TRIANGLE FOR ENERGY DRAIN?

Yeah, they do like to put the "primary" power to Y/Triangle (Vanguard's charge is also there). But all of the Salarian Engineer's powers are extremely useful ones that you'll use a lot. I do get the bumper powers mixed up, which causes some issues when I accidentally move my Decoy when I meant to use Incinerate. I'm a fan of how Energy Drain pretty much turns Geth into walking health packs.
