Im going to write a book not sure of the name of the book or the main protaginist names yet but i have go the world and setting done and since i;m very new to this i would like some positive critisim and suggestions. also i havent figured out how to put the text into a openable box. if you give an idea that i use i will add your name at the end of the book well your forum name anyway
Stones are the lifeblood of the of the adaptors, they power everything cleanly and efficiently but they are only created when somebody or a small group of people die and even then when they die peacefully the stones that are collected are weak and don?t last very long so we are always in need of more stones to power our worlds so we created spectres, think of them as mining prospectors they travel all the other worlds looking for the ones in conflict between light and dark or just a normal conflict between two opposing parties or just a peaceful world that had already finished is scuffle with whoever they were fighting and now live in harmony.
There are empty worlds which are perfectly inhabitable and are usually colonised by the adaptors these world are called empty worlds. The reason for these worlds is so that none of their existing worlds are ever plagued with over population, each world may only hold 3 billion adaptors at a time any more than that and the fragile harmony that they have strived for all these years could be shattered.
In a world that is in harmony and there are no wars or conflicts which are called harmonious worlds in which people die every day and spectres set up shop collecting each person?s residing energy and harvesting and then eventually turning it into a stone to power our worlds.
In a world that is in conflict just between normal humans that world is called a conflicted world in which lots of people die every day so many stones can be collected from these worlds and eventually they will turn into harmonious worlds.
Finally there are worlds bound by their own prophesy?s to have a long running war between light and dark which generate more deaths and in turn stones , and these worlds generate more stones then conflicted planets and harmonious planets . These planets which are plagued by never-ending wars between light and dark are called plagued worlds and must be guided down their intended path so that they may become harmonious worlds.
Unfortunately millions of years ago when the adaptors were just finishing up their petty conflicts and moving towards the world that they now live in the king of the adaptors discovered something, a stockpile of stones the very first stones which he used to power his kingdom for many years.
Then when the king was nearing the end of his days he discovered a terrible truth stones ran out of power, knowing that peace would not last without a clean efficient energy source he that kept his subjects happy. The King made his final orders to find out about more stones and how to create them
After the kings death the very first council took up control of the adaptors and ordered all scientists to start studying stones and to develop a new energy source if the first stones failed and a replacement was not found.
After 3 years of studying stones one scientist In-sub Lim finally figured out how stones where made and then created the collector, a machine that should be placed at the top of the world and he made it stone powered so it could stay up in a worlds atmosphere and collect all the residual energy made by death and transform that into the precious stones.
One problem in this new peaceful world people didn?t die fast enough to make a steady supply of stones so the council then ordered all scientists and engineers to create a way for someone to travel to different worlds. A way was found and adaptors now known as spectres travelled to a different world and that world was the first harmonious world and so the first spectres set up the machine which would later be called a ?soul catcher? and started to gather stones and send them back to the adaptor world.
The next world that was found was a plagued world and then the discovery that the more powerful the dead person the more powerful the stone so spectres set up their machine and went to work, it was only two years later that the plagued world was destroyed for reasons unknown at the time all staff and inhabitants of the plagued world died spectres.
More tests where done on what remained of the plagued world and finally after another 2 years of tests the answer was revealed the soul catcher had disturbed the natural flow of the world and had subsequently destroyed it and then the two tower or the academy?s where created one white and one black these towers purpose is to stabilize plagued planets so that the soul catcher can produce stones without destroying the world.
Over the years the white academy had had interesting effects on those that entered its arched doors, they were mutated by the stones that powered their tower and so the adaptors adapted to the stones radiation and they transformed into beings of knowledge and power these beings became the towers elders. Unfortunately when men entered the white academy they died from the same radiation that brought the females their power. And it seemed that this was a onetime effect any other females who entered the tower where only granted power considered minor compared to their elders but their minor powers where still capable of stabilizing the plagued worlds into harmony.
In time the women who entered the tower and gained minor powers where known as the guides and they guided the plagued worlds through war and strife. Ironically the leaders of the tower where incapable of leaving the tower that gave them their power and could not help bring stones to their world instead they commanded their minor sisters and organised them who went where.
Over in the black academy the men had the same fate as the women. The first men to enter their black arched doors where transformed into beings of power and knowledge also unable to leave the tower and those that came to the tower after them got minor powers compared to their elders but could leave the tower, the men took up the name defenders.
Strangely enough in later years fewer and fewer people who went to the academy to gain powers actually gained their powers, and the differences between the powers given to the protectors and the guides grew stranger and stranger.
Protectors who entered the black tower for the first time had their genes altered so that they absorbed tho whole power of one of the elemental stone, they gained enormous strength, cunning and the ability to infuse their weapons with one whole stone therefore increasing their base element or gaining lesser powers over a different element.
The women who entered their white tower gained powers by keeping stones close to them, absorbing the stones radiation and transforming the raw energy into blasts of power flowing from the user?s fingertips. One ability however stayed with them forever was the laying of the hands which could bring someone from near death back among the living at the peak of health.
Over the years The people who could gain ability?s by living in the towers grew even smaller now only 12 boys and 12 girls every 10 years have the necessary amount of adaptive genes to gain the power provided by the stones, Stones however gifted their users long lives.
Those chosen by the stones to become guides or defenders were taken to their respective towers and trained there for 10 years then they travelled to harmonious world to learn magic of that land so that they could adapt and then use lesser versions of the magic in other worlds when they needed it.
After their training in their respectiver towers the now adolescent defenders and guides swapped from their normal squads and switched into their permanent squads of 3 boys and 3 girls these squads mixed or permanent squads where they would spend 50 years on 10 different plagued worlds ensuring stones for many years to come, after the squads have finished their service they can settle down on any world of their choice for the rest of their days or go back into service.
