Opinions on the combination of Death Metal and Star Wars?

Some of you might like the more extreme sub-genres of Metal, and some of you might not. Some of you may well be Star Wars fans, and some may not. I like both, and I fucking love this:

I just wanted to bring this to the attention of my fellow Escapists, and see what your reactions are. And even if you despise certain aspects of the music (my girlfriend hates the vocals) please just have a flick through and give different parts of it a listen. The inventiveness deffinately deserves some credit. The Cantina part is awesome. So, what do you think?

On top of this, is there anything similar out there? A re-apropriation of film music into another genre?

ok now that I've watched the second one, mostly, lyrics are the only thing problem, in that I can't understand the guy half the time. other than that its great.

amusing. not really a death metal fan (only metal genres i like are prog metal and speed metal), but it was... interesting...

I love a bit of Death Metal. Gets the blood pumping and makes me feel good

I also find that needing to understand the lyrics isn't all that important for alot of Death Metal bands. It is almsotl like an extra ambient instrument.

Haha, awesome! Love the opening theme and the Mos Eisley Cantina tune, but the rest was... irritating and tuneless to me.

I do admire the inventiveness, though.

It's ok. I wish they had kept Leia's and some other characters' original voices and some other sound effects, like the lasers. Otherwise it's pretty fun.

I like the gangsta rap version better

I especially liked Jabba Hutt's verse.
