Agreed. Also you can add Full Metal Panics "tomorrow" OP to my list of favorites as well. IT holds a special place in my heart, as the first anime I ever watched.

Most of the themes I like are ED's, e.g. Un-GO (Lama - Fantasy), le Chevalier D'Eon (Aya - Over Night), Baccano! (Kaori Oda - Calling), Ergo Proxy (Radiohead - Paranoid Android... well d'uh), Gunslinger Girl (Opus - Dopo il Sogno), K-On (Yoko Hikasa - Don't Say 'Lazy')

However, occasionally, there's an awesome OP e.g. Gundam 00 (Brilliant Green - Ash Like Snow), Black Lagoon (MELL - Red Fraction), Durarara!! (ROOKIEZ is PUNK'D - Complication), Ergo Proxy (MONORAL - kiri), Bounen no Xam'd (Boom Boom Satellites - Shut Up & Explode), Toshokan Sensou (Hitomi Takahashi - Atashi no Machi, Ashita no Machi)

Actually, scratch that, it's more or less half and half...

To me, Gankutsuo is a prime example of how well-thought out and awesome OPs and EDs can be. Not only are they nice to look at, but the songs themselves give us some insight to the central antagonist, his tragic back story, and the monster that lurks within. It's awesome.

Hmmmm here are some:

Spoiler: FMA: Brotherhood Opening 1 I love this opening: it's paced so perfectly, its cinematography captures some really important facets of the struggle the Elrics have to go through and the song is pure awesome.

Spoiler: Baccano! Opening A series that essentially lives by its interesting and eccentric characters - it makes perfect sense that the opening is also purely focused on portraying the different characters who appear in the series; And that this succeeds so well in just a few seconds per character is astounding. Its playful nature also underlines the most of the time chaotic and unpredictable ways the characters in the series interact with each other. I love it :)
