I downloaded Shift 2 days ago and played 16 hours of it. Later today, when I tried to play again, the game's "Play" option wasn't there. Instead, there was a download option. It started the download at 88%, I assumed it was updating files. At 97%, the update failed, and I had to cancel download, which wiped all the files. I attempted a re-download, but at 93%, the same error popped up. Any solutions?

Does Origin have customer support? I would try there first before doing anything else. There might be a download bug associated with Shift 2, or it could be some other problem with the service itself that's unrelated to you. Any relevant info should be listed in their customer service area. :)

Click here! [https://help.ea.com/en/need-for-speed/need-for-speed-shift-2-unleashed]

In addition, I would make a topic there or ask on that support page to see if there is a solution somewhere. I read that the "Repair Game" Option sometimes fixes faulty game installs, but I am unsure if Shift 2 comes with that option. :)

I hope this helps!
No repair option for this one :( Customer service, didn't really think of that, since you know.. EA.. Lol. I guess I'll give it a shot though. Thanks a lot, I'll get back to this.

Hah, yeah. Still, perhaps someone else can answer you if you bring your specific issue to light. :)
Ok then, good luck! :)
Finally solved the problem, even though EA support basically did nothing. "Please re-install Origin","Is Origin in offline mode?" *Facedesk,Facedesk,Facedesk* In the end i just completely wiped the files from beginning to end, and the installation got past the broken point.

Thanks for your help Aylaine! :)
