Origin nowdays

Origin really isn't as bad as everyone made it out. Offline mode works, dare I say it, more reliably than Steams. It boots quickly and it isn't intrusive in any way.
Buying DLC is a much simpler and straightforward affair than in Steam - in Steam I'm never terribly sure whether that DLC i just bought is installed or not. In Origin every DLC installed is listed and can even be removed seperately.
I know, EA making it easy to spend money, who'd a thought it?
Just install ME3 and play it. But for the love of everything, install the extended cut DLC - its free and VASTLY improves the ending (i.e. the game "ends" rather than just "stops")

i haven't used it since bf3, i didn't particularly enjoy the experience. Everything seemed long winded, and had to have origin running and a web browser which annoyed me. But it seemed reliable and the actual ui on origin was simple enough

i used it for ME3, but tbh never look there for sales or as my first port of call. now i mainly use gog.com and steam for pretty much everything i can.
then again, i never had a huge problem with origin anyway, other than my usual dislike of change >_>

It worked well enough for the four hours or so I let it run. Didn't destroy my computer or anything, but to be fair I only let it run for that short time and never allowed it to connect to the internet after installing ME3- its now long gone.
Although I don't use Origin for anything other than Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect, and probably wouldn't have it at all if I didn't need it for those games, I will say that there is nothing wrong with it, and dare I say it, it works better than Steam.
Don't get me wrong, it's shit compared to Steam because it's devoid of pretty much everything Steam has apart from a store and profile page. But Origin has never crashed on me, or given me any errors, it's always ran perfectly unlike Steam which has crashed on me hundreds of times, or I'll get errors just going from the store tab to the community tab. I've never been randomly disconnected from Origin for no reason either. I even get faster downloads on Origin than I do on Steam for some reason.

Wouldn't know. What I do know however is that as an Australian it is still cheaper for me in most cases to import physical games than buy them through Steam. Steam sales events and anything that escapes the grasp of the larger publishing companies are generally the exceptions.

I felt the exact same way when Napoleon Total War told me I needed Steam to play. At this point, Steam was very foreign to me and I did not trust it. Origin isn't BAD - I think it looks better than Steam although their sales suck.sanquin said:

I personally have nothing to hide on my computer at home as all I use it for is for gaming. I have a laptop to do internet searching and Skype so all they will find on my desktop is numerous games. Although, they might find out I do enjoy the Sherlock Holmes games & Nancy Drew and be shamed by several advertisements from EA corresponding to these.
