It's all irrelevant anyway as EULAs are pretty much worthless. Origin as a program works fine. Better than Steam in fact. Far more stable (though it does have its fair share of occassional stuttering, and the odd "Unresponsive" issue) as everyone has been saying.
The major issue, as has been pointed out, is the lack of any real... products to purchase. The prices aren't exactly competitive for PC gaming (although some of the sales are okay. Some games actually go pretty low), and there's a serious lack of them. EA seriously needs to get some 3rd Party games on Origin for it to be viable - but they probably know that already.
And yeah;

I don't know, it just crashes, most recently it's crashed on me twice just uploading an avatar, sometimes it will crash just starting a game (although that's only happened to me three times since I got Steam). My problems with it are mostly disconnections and errors. Talking to a friend and all of a sudden you're offline for no reason, and that happens a lot, error messages to. I get error messages fairly often just changing page, changing from Store to Community "Error Code 14, Steam could not connect to the server".Nalgas D. Lemur said:

granted it's a bit tedious having to login and keep connection for those games, especially KoA being singleplayer only, but I've never had any true problem with it
I have Crysis 2 and Bad Company 2 on it too but since I just added those games to the library while I still own the disks, I don't require to run the program to play those games if I install from the disks
as for the store, hell no I ain't buying anything, damn thing is on Euros and Euros are expensive

That could definitely be different for different people just because they're in different regions and connecting to different Steam servers. I've generally been fine with the ones in the northeastern US and Toronto, depending on where I am and what ISP I'm on at the time. Not sure what it's like in other parts of the world. You can try manually switching to a different one from whatever it defaulted to for you, which I've done a couple times before when the one I was on was overloaded/slow right after the release of a really popular game or something like that. Could be worth trying a different one, because most areas seem to have multiple to choose from.Kungfu_Teddybear said:

I have very, very few games on steam. The half life and CS series, since they're from valve itself. Torchlight, since it was a cheap game. (got TL1 and 2 for 20 euro's) and some steam sales from this summer sale, all below 10 euro's. In total I've spent maybe 20~30 euro's this sale. And I will keep it that way. I refuse to buy anything over 20 euro's on games I don't even really own. And even 15~20 euro's makes me really think before buying.
It's not evil or anything, it's just kinda useless. The only reason I have it is I got BF3, Crysis 2 and ME3.
My main gripe with Origin and Steam is that it's a pay-once subscription service, rather than a retailer. Somewhere in the future, when Steam or Origin finally dies off, where do you think your games will go? You don't have a hard copy of (most of) the games, so when the services do go under, all those games will be inaccessible without a massive technology/DRM overhaul. I like online retailers, like GOG, that allows you to fully download the game and not worry about clients or such. If there's ever a threat that GOG will get shut down, just download all your games from them, burn them to a DVD, and you'll have the library of games you paid for without needing GOG.
Regardless, Origin and Steam work fine as they are right now, but be mindful of the risks you take when you aren't offered a DRM-free copy that you can download onto your computer without a client.

Aside from the data mining thing, there's never really been much of anything wrong with Origin that wasn't already wrong with everything else.
