Excuse me, my brain just melted. Please leave a message and after I have played this game in nerdgasmic ecstasy for at least 24 hours, I might get back to you.
If there is one thing that shows loyalty to the game...is paintball mode. SERIOUSLY. I love that mode.

Only for Wii... you...yoou......You Monsters! *sigh* I really was looking forward to playing this on my PC, but now all I can do is play GoldenEye Source (hah! forgot about that didn't you!) Which is unfortunately MP only, and with fairly empty servers :(

Wow, might be a decent FPS for the Wii, at last. Original was my first game for the N64... this might encourage me to get a wii.

Or at the very least make me encourage my friend who has a wii to get this.

I thought for a second it would be Doak commenting on this, but he's probably

At least, I hope so. This remake is taking some serious liberties, but I'm still probably buying it.

I seem to remember there being way more than eight playable characters in the original GoldenEye... but I could be wrong.
Anyway, despite the kinda dated-looking graphics engine, this actually looks REALLY good. I'll be getting it, although perhaps not right off the bat. Time to break out the ol' Wii again, it seems.

Does it have regenerative health? Seemed so. I don't think the original had regen health - that's something I don't like the look of.

1. Why Daniel Craig? Couldn't get Pierce Brosnan to do the voice acting? Why would you recast the main character if you're going for nostalgia value?

2. Going for a 'realistic' visual style/aesthetic on Wii is a mistake.

I don't know why, but whenever I hear that guy going "Oh my god!" at the start of the trailer I can't help but imagine the interviewer running the focus group has just ripped off his mask to reveal the face of Freddy Krueger...

OT: Ever since this was announced I've been wondering what the guys still working at Rare must feel about this. It's nice to see at least somebody involved in the original game has given it his blessing.

One thing that I've been mulling over, though; I would have thought there'd be some legal problems in remaking the game. Did Rare lose any right to ownership on the original game design when they walked from the Bond license? Or have there just been years of negotiations that we're just not aware of?
No, IIRC, Rare just had the right to program it, so now Eurocom is re-programming it.

Yeah, Craig does seem to be a bit out of place. Maybe they'll finally realise Rare's dreams of untangling the legal blockades and having all the previous Bonds unlockable. I mean, if they get those sorts of issues sorted, theres no reason not to expect a simple lead actor switch in the options menu.

The idea of playing Goldeneye as Sean Connery is most awesome. Hope that's an option.
