Other Wargames.

A general outcry to these forums. Does anyone here play Wargames that aren't Warhammer Fantasy, 40K or LOTR Stategy Battles? All the wargaming threads I've come across seem to revolve around GW, who have somewhat made gaming mainstream, and cudos to them for it, but does anyone here play any others. I have often found them to be superior in there design and playthrough than the mainstream GW ones. Amoung my favorites are:

Pirates (Wizkids)
And RPGS.

Warmachine and HOrde are the only things I can think of off the top of my head. Haven't played either, but I know warmachine is steampunk (I think) and Horde is fantasy.

I like using miniatures in my RPG's...but I don't really "wargame"

I did write up a fun little Wormsesque skirmish game when I was younger though. It involved Lego Mans.

What exactly do you mean by wargames? Because if it's just war games in general, I love Command and Conquer.

I have a small pile of Ground Zero Games books at home, sadly neglected. I have a larger pile of Game Designers' Workshop games that are also dust-covered, including some of their mouldy oldies like Command Decision. Some Battletech stuff, pre-lawsuit so I get to have pictures of Marauders as well as some of the newer books, up there too.

It occurs to me that I need to go look at my collection again, as I'm starting to forget what I've already piled up.

Nah, it's fine, I've just never heard of them described as war games.
