This a remake of a RP back in '09 that flopped, but I've revised just about everything so lets not let that happen again!

In the slums of a rundown city, a crowd of the homeless and broken are drawn by an unknown force to the last working lamppost on the street. At the center of the group a man stands in a mismatched suit, made up of multicolored pieces all too large or too small for his puny figure. He wears an old bowler hat and even in the dead of the night he wears pitch black sunglasses atop his crooked nose. The dim light of the lamp illuminates his gaunt face as his thin lips peel back in a twisted smile as he begins his speech.

"Ladies, gentleman, and everything in between, come and listen. Let me be blunt, your world sickens me. Every where I have traveled I have found the likes of you piled in the streets, while the others look down upon you with contempt. So I come before you, the broken and beaten, to let you know of a better place, where all of you can start over. How do you get there you ask? It is simple.......you just have to die. I encourage you to slit your wrist, squeeze the trigger, drink the poison, for what awaits you is worth the pain, worth the suffering! In my world you are rewarded simply for becoming a citizen, three gifts of power and a weapon to defend yourself with, for there is danger no matter what world you live in. Come one, Come all, for I will meet you on the other side, to personally welcome you to the Otherworld."

Upon finishing his speech the man tips his hat and vanishes before the bewildered crowd's eyes. After a few seconds of shocked murmuring the crowd disperses, though some in more of a hurry than others...

Welcome to Otherworld, the place you go after death when your not wicked enough for Hell and not righteous enough for Heaven. Otherworld is a place of magic and mystery, perfectly designed to make even the most experienced citizens gasp in disbelief at the oddities to be found. Upon arriving every new citizen receives three "Gifts of Power"(Some type of magical/superhuman ability) all meant to help you defend yourself or to adjust with your new surroundings. Along with the gifts, everyone receives a weapon of some sort to help protect themselves. All new citizens appear in the Scholar District, where there is a Speaker exactly like the one described in the intro awaiting to greet you personally.

Rules

1. All citizens of Otherworld have a mutated appearance, this can be any thing from having glowing eyes to being a centaur.

2. The magic powers you receive upon becoming a citizen are limited, for example you cannot be given the power to control fire, you can however be given the power to shoot fireballs from your eyeballs and so on.

3. Law does not exist in Otherworld, so if you wrong someone justice is dispensed by vigilantes or mercenaries.

Notes

1. Otherworld is separated into districts, like the Jungle District, the Urban District, the Cemetery District, and so on.

2. Otherworld is a world of magic, so if you want a fourth magic power and can't decide which ones to use for your "gifts" it can be learned later within Otherworld, although not in a quick "You now know ___ magic, go destroy something" fashion, it have to learn it like you would a learn a skill in real life, over time.

3. You don't age in Otherworld, so be mindful of that when you make a character.

4. Otherworld is a parallel to our own world, as with each new generation of citizens the technology improves for obvious reasons, yet even with this people rely more on the natural magic of the world so the tech is mainly applied only to a small production of firearms and explosives. Overall it's really a blend of all times, a couple districts only represent one time period but the rest are a mix of everything.


Scholar District - An intellectual's paradise, Art, Music, and the like are every in this District. For the most part this district is one giant city that takes after Greek and Roman architecture. The biggest attraction of this district are it's massive libraries, including works from the "living" world and works from across Otherworld.

Jungle District - The most mysterious of districts, The Jungle District is just that, a massive jungle. Completely uncharted, many adventurers easily become lost and never seen again, but those that do return come with stories unrivaled by anyone.

Trade District - While markets still exist across Otherworld, none match the size and selection found in the Trade District. The architecture takes after Medieval England and the Italian Renaissance, and what ever it is your after you will always find it some where in the massive market.

Entertainment District - Immortality can become boring at times, and because of this the Entertainment District was created. A giant fairground combining the loves of every generation of every time period. From gladiators and joust to bumper cars and ferris wheels, something will undoubtedly grab your interest.

Urban District - The epitome of a concrete jungle, this district has the odd mix of modern day architecture but without cars cramming the streets, instead replaced with the citizens various animal, magical, and mechanical mounts. Essentially a massive modern city in every manner.

Nocturnal District - While the rest of Otherworld follows a 24 hour night and day cycle, this district is always in darkness. Only partially settled, the citizens who have settled here are quiet used to it and can see clearly.

War District - An accepted oddity of Otherworld, the War District is the one place where even death through combat is impossible. When dealt a fatal blow here, you stay dead for 24 hours before the wound heals itself and you are good as new. Because of this property the district has long been used to settle disputes or just to have a bit of fun, its like LARP but with real blood.

Religion District - Even being sent to a place like Otherworld cannot kill the faith in most people, and the Religion District was created for this reason. A place for worship, every religion through the ages is represented as well as a few unique to Otherworld have a place to praise their gods here.

Savage District - Some people just can't handle the transition between worlds, thus the Savage District was made. Those to insane to safely be around the rest of Otherworld are thrown into this forsaken place to fight amongst themselves. Adventurers are to be wary, for acting civilized won't get you far here.

Cemetery District - Literally a massive grave site. While the entire district is not covered in headstones, at least 2/3 of the ground is, the rest is vast plains and the occasional village.

Desert District - Another creatively named district, its nothing but a desert with a few cities dotting the landscape.

Magic District - Forsaking technology, this medieval district has fully embraced the old ways of magic. Somewhat elitist, the citizens here scoff at anyone passing through using anything other than magic to protect themselves and can even become angered by the site.

Barren District - covered with ghost towns, this Barren district is completely unsettled. While obviously once having some purpose, it was apparently outlived as this district has been abandoned by all and those that pass through do so with great haste.

Slum District - Thought to once be part of the Urban District, the Slum District is a rundown, crime ridden place that even makes professional thieves check there pockets every few minutes.

Industrial District - The complete opposite of the Magic District, the Industrial District instead has shunned magic and has dedicated itself to finding new applications of technology. With a architecture similar to 1930's America and Victorian England, more than one Otherworlder has described it as the "Steampunk District"

Mountain District - Similar to the Desert District, the name is self explanatory. An extremely mountainous region, very few people have been brave enough live here and travel is slow and cautious.

Mining District - Even after the transition between words, the greed and love for shiny metals and gems is still strong. The Mining District is covered with cities and villages where a mine can be made with several ghost towns where the ore has run out.

Speakers - The invincible and immortal beings that greet the new citizens as well as advertise Otherworld to the "living" world. Nothing is known about these beings other than they have been here since before mutated humans started appearing. Speakers are also the historians of Otherworld, any tale worth telling they know and are a bit too eager to tell.

Looking Glasses - Every district comes with several randomly placed "Looking Glasses". These are gigantic crystal balls that allow one person at a time to look back into the "living" world for brief periods, mainly meant to view one's old family but anything can be viewed through the Looking Glass.

Jade Clan - The mysterious inhabitants of Jungle District, each member is dressed in jade green clothes and are martial arts experts. Cut completely off from the rest of Otherworld, the history of the Jade Clan can only be speculated, it is widely believed that they are the remnants of a group of ninjas from Feudal Japan. Above all else, the most mysterious thing about Jade Clan is no observed members have mutations like the rest of Otherworld.

Foreman - The undisputed leader of the Industrial District, the Foreman has been in control of the various productions in the district for over 100 years. Foreman is a strange man, many of his workers think the transition between worlds drove him half-mad and only his work keeps him from being shipped out to the Savage District.

White Mage - The undisputed leader of the Magic District, the White Mage has ruled for nearly 300 years. The most powerful magician in all of Otherworld, White Mage is also believed to be the one that started the unspoken rivalry between the Magic District an Industrial District after killing the previous Foreman.

Librarian - A grumpy old man, the Librarian is the one of the greatest historians in Otherworld, second only to the Speakers of course. If hes in a good mood and you can bribe him, he can find any text in the Scholar District for you.

Name: Connor

Age: 75 years

Appearance: Shoulder length black hair, pale blue eyes, arms are mutated to be brown, leathery skinned from the elbow down with only three fingers (not including thumb) ending is thick talon-like claws. Wears a beaten brown trench coat over a plain white t-shirt and worn out jeans with worn work boots. There are two slits in the back of his clothes for his large, bat-like wings that have the same brown leathery look as his arms which he can extend or retract into his body at will.

Gifts: vampirism(when he drinks blood he becomes stronger and his wounds heal, but he becomes more animalistic), can shoot a steady stream of fire from his wrist when they're held together, and magic pocket that exits between his body and trench coat, seemingly bottomless.

Weapon: Ninjato

History: In life Connor was a shopkeeper's son in the 1930's. When he was 22 Connor left the family business and started working for his uncle, a mobster, in hopes of getting a better pay to help the family get by. One bad deal and a shotgun blast later Connor ended up in Otherworld. Since the transfer Connor has been traveling around Otherworld taking in every odd sight he could see before working in a small gambling circuit in the Entertainment District. After leaving the gambling circuit he went back to exploring, currently in the Scholar District shifting through the libraries.

Name:Brandon "The Sage" Smith

Age: 16

Appearance: Looks like a Wolf but walks, talks, and acts like a human. A "Furry" if you will. Wears a tench coat, black shirt, jeans and glasses.

Gifts: Higher than average intelligence(Hence the sage part), Natural weapons (Claws and fangs), Simple fire Magic

Weapon: Two 9mm hand guns.

History: Brandon grew up with a poor family. One day a robber broke in and killed his family. Brandon was out at the time and returned to their little run down apartment to find his family's body's. Racked with guilt Brandon fled his home and lived on the streets for a couple of years searching for the one who had done this. When he turned sixteen he found out that the killer had been killed in a shoot out with the cops. Again feeling guilty about not being able to avenge his family, Brandon couldn't take it any more. Soon the police would find his body in the freezer in the back of a restaurant.

Name: Thanatos Lier

Age: 17 at death, 13 years spent in Otherworld.

Appearance: 6'5'' wearing black sweats, dirty sneakers, red shirt and a black jacket. Eyes are red with a black, catlike slit down the middle. his left hand has mutated into a claw, each finger as deadly as the sharpest knife. his left arm has also turned harder than steel, to endure his destructive powers. His arm has also turned as black as night.

Powers: Void- he can also use the void as a shield, cloaking himself in its presence, so attacks go through the void and not through him. he has to let these out, or else they will still hurt him when he uses the shield next. he can open a portal by using his left hand to claw open the doorway. However, the void is vicious. it will try to destroy anything it touches, save the weapons hidden within it. it will even hurt Damien. This power he has focused on, and thus it is the most developed of his controllable powers.
Darkness-he is able to create darkness using his left hand. also very vicious. however, not very developed.
instant regeneration- his body regenerates itself at a rate 100 times faster than an average human. however, if his head is removed from his shoulders and kept away from him for six hours, he will die a true death.
weapon:tri-bladed scythe. two blades are at the top, one at 90 degrees and the other at 45. the third blade is projecting out of the bottom of the scythe.

History: Thanatos was bored with his life. this started at age 14. He started getting into brawls, streetfights, eventually moving onto one-man army fights. he won every one. then, IT happened. someone he had beat had come back. when Thanatos was in school, the person had blown up his house. his family was killed. He came home and sank to his knees. the police and firemen were swarming his house. He ran away. He found the man in a dark ally. the man had a knife. He sliced up Thanatos' left arm, but Thanatos would not be denied. He leapt on the man and took him to the ground. Thanatos punched the man so hard, the man's shoulder bone snapped. Then, Lier just kept punching, again and again. finally, his left arm broke the man's ribs and tore open his skin. Lier's punch went straight through the man, crushing his heart. Lier stepped off the man and saw a twelve year old girl standing there. she was covered in cuts. the man was trying to kill her. Lier took her in. Her name was Rose.
two years later, at age 17, one of the man's friends came with a gun and aimed towards Rose. Damien snarled and leapt into the path of the bullet. as he took the bullet, he sliced open the man's throat with a knife he was carrying. his last sight was of Rose kneeling over him, crying.
most likely, Thanatos should have gone to hell. However, the single act of saving Rose had redeemed him enough to go to the Otherworld.

Name: Armion Storm

Age: 110

Appearance: Typically has long black hair, although his first gift means that is subject to change. Generally wears a gray robe that covers most of his body, in an effort to hide his mutations. Has a pentagram burned into his hand, although this was from his life before he arrived in the Otherworld. His skin is a pale blue colour, and under his robe his body is pretty close to skeletal.

Gifts:
-1) Able to change his hair color, eye color, and facial features at will. Control of this gift can sometimes be lost if Armion is subjected to stress.
-2) The darkness does not affect his eyesight. He can see in it as clearly as he can in the light.
-3) Speed and agility are enhanced by low light levels.

Weapon(s): Typically wields two umbrellas made from a rare material as weapons. For various reasons, combat isn't often something that he gets involved in, so he simply uses the umbrellas because they can also keep the rain off him. However, he does have a scythe stored away, and if he suspects that he may become a target for some reason, he will carry that in place of one of the umbrellas.

History: Armion's life was a confusing one. He was born in a small village in Japan, and until the age of 11 lived a fairly normal life for a peasant. Then a tragic accident resulted in him being banished.

He remembers the first two days of his banishment clearly, as they were the hardest in his life. He did not know how to survive, and how to tell what was poisonous and what wasn't. On the third day he took a risk, and bit into a berry he didn't recognize. He started to hallucinate, and here is where his memory trails off. For the next six years, all he remembers is red.

At the age of 17, he snapped out of it. He looked around him, and saw what looked like the aftermath of a battle. As he stared, he suddenly felt immense fatigue overcome him. He collapsed to the ground, and when he opened his eyes he was in the Nocturnal district of the Otherworld.

Name: Candouras

Age: 43

Appearance: A tall, body builder like man. His Right arm is mutated. He wears a jacket and always keeps his hood up, but without his hood up he is bald. Inferno red eyes with a tattoo of a fireball over one eye. He speaks with a low gravelly voice making him seem evil at times.He has many scars all over his face and body. They have served reminders to fights that he had been victorious at, and his ruthless aggression.

Gifts: 1- Strength- Basically, Candouras can punch pretty fair sized holes into walls. This helps him when he is fighting with his arm. He has many scars all over his face and body. They have served reminders to fights that he had been victorious at, and his ruthless aggression.

2- Speed- Candouras can run faster and longer than normal humans can. His Athletic ability is also affected by this meaning that he can jump higher than anyone else.

3- Shadow- Candouras can blend into any shadows when he is out matched, causing him to be safe and undetected when he needs to retreat. This also helps him take out targets with

Weapon: Candouras only uses his Right arm as his weapon. His right arm as both a shield and a sword.
History: Candouras had grown up in a poor city, and that is where he had witnessed in horror along with his little brother, his mother and fathers death at the age of 7. Ever since then he has been an aggressive, merciless person. Looking for revenge, and killing who ever he can.

He soon died and went to the Otherworld. He would usually hang out in the slum District. There, he got stronger. Soon started street fight and never lost once. He has been wounded, and almost killed. But never lost. That would be the death of him first. Most of the time, Candouras's brother has to pull him off of his opponents so he doesn't kill them.

But Candouras is not evil. He is very far from evil. He is just driven by rage and revenge. Of that ever lasting memory. He stopped street fighting, and became a vigilante of sorts. Though, he still mercilessly beat the living souls out of the people he hunted, and ripped most of them to shreds. But because of him being a vigilante, he has been hunted by other vigilantes, mercs, and bounty hunters.

He has stopped being a vigilante also, and now he remains in the back alleys of buildings and remained hidden with his brother.

Name: Edward (No last name)

Age: Edward was 27 years of age at the time of his death, and has inhabited the Otherworld for 16 years.

Appearance: Caucasian, rusty red hair and neckbeard, green eyes. Wears a dark suit and slouch hat. A massive gash runs down his left flank, but does not bleed. Instead, it emits a red glow from somewhere not inside his body.

Gifts:
The gift of sounds - Edward can reproduce any sound from his mouth if he knows what it will sound like. This does not mean that he can understand any languages he speaks, he can only mimic the sounds.
The gift of steel - Edward can produce his soul in the form of steel from the hole in his side. Currently, he does not know how to use it properly and is only capable of making a small sword.
(I'm just going to go with two gifts, seeing as how the gift of sounds is so versatile.)

Weapon: A metaphysical manifestation of Edward's soul currently in the shape of a wakizashi. Edward produces it from the hole in his side. It's battered, chipped and stained but it gets the job done.

History: A vagrant on the streets of tokyo since he was little, Edward has generally had a shit time of it. He's had to resort to stealing, handouts and and trickery to survive, until the Speaker gave his fateful speech. He threw himself in front of a car soon afterwards, and has led a happy not-life in the Otherworld for 16 years since.

Name: Leon Valehart

Age: Time in otherworld(5 years), Biological age(21 years)

Appearance: 5'10 170 lbs, Has an average body build. Dark brown hair that hangs down to his shoulders. Rarely changes his clothes and wears a dark blue cotton jacket with a fur trim, usually wears his jacket open and has a black undershirt. Wears dark brown cargo pants that go down past his ankles, he normally goes barefoot due to an unexplained aversion to footwear although he has been known to walk over broken glass and other normally hazardous ground without any noticeable harm. His eyes are pure white and emit a very dull light that shifts colors randomly, other than tinting his vision the color that the light is this has no effect on his vision.

Gifts: Sustenance - Doesn't need to sleep, eat, or sustain himself in any way. His body is in a constant state of good health and hygiene.

Can instantly teleport to anywhere within his field of vision, doesn't need to focus on the spot and if his vision is obstructed or obscured he will teleport in a random direction. Can choose whether the momentum he goes into the teleport with is persistent(basically can come out of the teleport stopped or still moving). Has a 100 meter maximum range. Can also teleport up to 400 lbs that he is in contact with.

Gifted Empathy - Can feel other peoples emotions as well as "swap pain"(IE:if your head hurts he can make the pain stop but takes on the pain himself and vice versa). Only the pain is swapped not any actual wound or injury although the wound stops to hurt once the pain is swapped.

Weapon: Has a remarkable talent for effectively using most anything he can lay his hands on as an improvised weapon. The only weapon he always carries on him is a handheld and very powerful taser.

History: From the year 2005, he lived in New York City and worked as a police informant. Was killed after being found out by the mafia. He started out in the industrial district of otherworld. When he first got to otherworld he wasn't ready for the emotions of everyone around him flooding into his head at the same time; this made him irrational and unpredictable ,constantly acting on other peoples emotions, which led people to believe him insane.

Because of this he was sent to the savage district where he gradually learned to control his gifted empathy. After five years in the savage district, using his experience as an informant to blend in as a psycopath, he emerged with his sanity still intact. But that kind of hell still changes people, and now he has only hatred for the society that cast him out.

Name: Darren "Darry" Taylor

Age: 5 years in otherworld. Died at the age of 26

Appearance: Darren has quite a distinctive facial feature; he has none at all. His head is just a crimson sphere; no lips, ears or anything apart from a jagged line which is his 'mouth'. The mouth can hardly be described as human, as it resembles a shark's jaw more than anything else. Furthermore there isn't a distinctive sign of where his teeth stop and 'flesh' starts due to the featureless characteristic of his head and the fact that he is red. The rest of his body seems to be fine, minus the weird skin colour. He wears a black suit with a white shirt, as well as this he fashions a black bowler hat. He stands 6 foot tall and is rather slim.

Gifts:
1- One of Darren's gifts is regeneration. As long as his heart in his body, he can heal himself quite rapidly.

2- Can change the mass of a bodypart or an item in contact with his hands. The object in question can be increased or decreased 21 times the original, also will be hard as a diamond either way. If it leaves his hands, after 7 seconds it will revert back to normal.

3- Despite the fact that he has no face, no expressions and no features, he can still see and hear. He boasts that the lack of a face is a blessing in disguise as he now possesses the ultimate poker face. The practical usefulness of his head is quite doubtful.

Weapon: An intricately decorated spade and a deck of cards.

History: Darren Taylor's brief life could be described by those who knew him with three words; cheating sneaky twat. Born and brought up in the busy streets of London during the 70s by a poor family with no honest face to be seen (including his parents) in the neighbourhood. In his teens he worked for crooks and resorted to petty crimes himself such as pick pocketing to earn money in a bizzare belief that this was a good way to educate himself about life and the world.
By the time he was a young adult, he was a full time crook. It seemed as if he had the full set; a sharp mind, the charm, the experience and the skills. He conned people and cheated casinos for a living. He might have made it past 40 if it werent for his major flaws. Though he was quite sharp, he was too well aware of it. Furthermore he too frequently used his skills on his potential associates. To avoid the authorities, he'd trick them into becoming bait or scapegoats. For a guy like him it was a matter of time until the inevitable happened. Darren had frequently cheated in a casino, his last time was an attempt at the high stake poker table filled with figures he shouldn't mess with. The casino owner had caught wind of it and to him, it was the last straw for this loud mouthed scum who thought he had outsmarted everyone. Before Darren could do anything his associates, who he was planning to use as a diversion, had made their escape and the thugs were already on him. His charm, smarts and trickery had shielded him from the authorities all his life, but those were no good against a couple of rage filled hardened thugs. The owner of the casino was tired of Darren and also he saw this as an ideal time to make an example by having him beaten literally into a bloody pulp. At the age of 26 he left the real world.
Now he is a regular in the otherworld's entertainment district. His gambling habit currently can be described as obsessive almost.

Name: Rachael Wernus

Age: 11

Appearance: About 3 ft high, and weighs a wopping 30kg, She wears a small black gown, under it lies a a white t-shirt and bright green pants, she has a small pair of boots in a greyish red color, Her hair twists from normal into a mane of ice, or water depending on her mood.

Gifts: Has the power to immeadiately make everyone in the room say "Awww" with a bat of her eye-lashes, Also has the power to just freeze the ground at certain points of time.

Weapon: A small barbers razor.

History: Rachael spent her time in otherworld running and dodging everything in the "War" district, she found her parents which were obviously dead like her having been in a car crash, she couldn't speak but you knew she was happy by her hair, when her parents and her were inbracing in a "Family Reunion" hug, 3 people found them and shot the parents on sight, Rachael angered by this screamed at the top of her lungs and began to cry, the men immeadiately began to feel upset for the poor girl, but it was all a ruse, she really hadn't cared for them, having left her so long ago to fend for herself, she disapeered from sight, and slowly sliced every man's throat in the vicinity, she ever since then has fended for herself, she's cruel, but she doesn't care for it, she has done everything she could to not die, even once killing a small boy about the same age for a piece of bread, she found the exit from the "War" district and has wandered around Otherworld ever since.

Age: 38 (Years in Otherworld, roughly 120)

Appearance: Sydney stands in at 6 feet 2 inches. He has black hair and decently trimmed beard. He wears a black wide-brim hat.He also wears a white button up shirt with a black colonel tie with a black vest on above it. A gray sheriff's duster stretching down to feet with gray slacks covering up his shirt and gray slacks, and gray boots. Underworld hasn't morphed him terrible much except the addition glowing eyes (I'd like to keep him as human as possible)

Gifts
The Hunter- Sydney has developed the ability to run at great speeds when on all fours in order to chase people down.

Escape Artist- He can briefly become intangible passing through walls and floors and allowing projectiles to pass through him.

Ready, Aim, Fire- Sydney's left hand can shoot a fireball between two of his fingers if he makes a gun ship and lowers his thumb, but has a tendency to burn his hand.

Weapons: Upon his arrival to Otherworld the only weapons Sydney received was the rope he was tied up with and the knife he was trying to use to cut himself free.

History: Sydney was alive during the time of the Wild West in 1865 as the town's marshal.

He was betrayed by an outlaw he had befriended in order to take down a gang that had been raiding the town. After he arrested their leader the outlaw he trusted set loose the gang leader and tied Sydney down to a chair threw a knife at his feet and set the place to burn. Sydney was able to free himself but on his way to open the door the ceiling collapsed, crushing him to death.

When he arrived to the Otherworld Sydney just decided to pick up where he left off acting as the lawful bounty hunter, bringing people in wanted by others.

6 ft 3 in, clean shaven, lean, shaggy dark brown hair (turns white when using gifts), eyes: blue (glowing light blue/white with gifts), pale, long fingers, small fangs, tattoo on forearm (link below), and always breathes like its cold (puffs). Wears dark clothing. Cold skinned.
Mount:
summons polar bear or ice wolf/ bear. Mount usually loaded with large gourds full of water.
Gifts:
Freeze: ability to create ice out of pre-existing water can control how the water freezes over. Currently can only make ice sustain for about an hour at a time without focusing on it, but training to make it longer.
Summon: can summon a mount (see mounts)
Weapons:
ice made throwing disks, stars, knives (etc.), sword or daggers of ice.
History:
In the real world, Lokin was an average teen living with his step parents and older sister, Nuria. His parents had given him and his sister away at a very young age, and though he had no regrets, he sometimes felt lonely, even in his life filled with riches and pleasure, so he bonded very closely with his sister. Throughout the years they grew up together, becoming best friends to say the least.
Eventually, she left the house and they parted their separate ways, but their love for each other where still great. Lokin grew to be a lover of nature and inspired to become a professional snowboarder. Nuria joined the army, and quickly gained the ranks to special ops. After an unfortunate injury in combat, she left the army and became a skilled mercenary, killing for pay. Nuria kept her profession a dark secret from friends, family, even her beloved brother. One day she was called to do a especially dangerous mission, the offer being well over the norm asking price. Knowing the obvious danger, she proceeded anyways, hunting down the man named Candouras.
Eventually she found him. Candouras, she found, was an amazing fighter, even against her, and she became quickly and fatally wounded, and Candouras escaped. Lokin, coming to the bedside of his dying sister, herd his sister plead for vengeance. Lokin, unknowing of his sister's profession, vowed to destroy Candouras, even if it killed him. He searched long and hard for Candouras, and eventually came to the information that he had died and travelled to the otherworld.
Finding love had left him in the mortal world, he killed himself to travel to the otherworld so he might track down and kill the man named Candouras.

Gifts: Higher than average intelligence(Hence the sage part), Natural weapons (Claws and fangs), Simple fire Magic

Weapon: Two 9mm hand guns.

History: Brandon grew up with a poor family. One day a robber broke in and killed his family. Brandon was out at the time and returned to their little run down apartment to find his family's body's. Racked with guilt Brandon fled his home and lived on the streets for a couple of years searching for the one who had done this. When he turned sixteen he found out that the killer had been killed in a shoot out with the cops. Again feeling guilty about not being able to avenge his family, Brandon couldn't take it any more. Soon the police would find his body in the freezer in the back of a restaurant.

I think you mean incorporeal, and as long as it happened later in Otherworld, (as in a spell, curse, etc.) or it you where given the gift to become incorporeal, then go ahead mein friend.

Name: Thanatos (Real name unknown)

Controlling area: War District

Age: 17 at death, 13 years spent in Otherworld.

Appearance: 6'5'' wearing black sweats, dirty sneakers, red shirt and a black jacket. Eyes are red with a black, catlike slit down the middle. his left hand has mutated into a claw, each finger as deadly as the sharpest knife. his left arm has also turned harder and denser than diamond, to endure his destructive powers. His arm has also turned as black as night.

Powers: Void- he can also use the void as a shield, cloaking himself in its presence, so attacks go through the void and not through him. he has to let these out, or else they will still hurt him when he uses the shield next. he can open a portal by using his left hand to claw open the doorway. However, the void is vicious. it will try to destroy anything it touches, save the weapons hidden within it. it will even hurt Damien. This power he has focused on, and thus it is the most developed of his controllable powers.
Darkness-he is able to create darkness using his left hand. also very vicious. however, not very developed.
instant regeneration- his body regenerates itself at a rate 100 times faster than an average human. however, if his head is removed from his shoulders and kept away from him for six hours, he will die a true death.
weapon:tri-bladed scythe. two blades are at the top, one at 90 degrees and the other at 45. the third blade is projecting out of the bottom of the scythe.

History: Thanatos was bored with his life. this started at age 14. He started getting into brawls, streetfights, eventually moving onto one-man army fights. he won every one. then, IT happened. someone he had beat had come back. when Thanatos was in school, the person had blown up his house. his family was killed. He came home and sank to his knees. the police and firemen were swarming his house. He ran away. He found the man in a dark ally. the man had a knife. He sliced up Thanatos' left arm, but Thanatos would not be denied. He leapt on the man and took him to the ground. Thanatos punched the man so hard, the man's shoulder bone snapped. Then, Lier just kept punching, again and again. finally, his left arm broke the man's ribs and tore open his skin. Thanatos' punch went straight through the man, crushing his heart. Thanatos stepped off the man and saw a twelve year old girl standing there. she was covered in cuts. the man was trying to kill her. Thanatos took her in. Her name was Rose.
two years later, at age 17, one of the man's friends came with a gun and aimed towards Rose. Thatanos snarled and leapt into the path of the bullet. as he took the bullet, he sliced open the man's throat with a knife he was carrying. his last sight was of Rose kneeling over him, crying.
most likely, Thanatos should have gone to hell. However, the single act of saving Rose had redeemed him enough to go to the Otherworld.

The gift of sounds - Edward can reproduce any sound from his mouth if he knows what it will sound like. This does not mean that he can understand any languages he speaks, he can only mimic the sounds.
The gift of steel - Edward can produce his soul in the form of steel from the hole in his side. Currently, he does not know how to use it properly and is only capable of making a small sword.
(I'm just going to go with two gifts, seeing as how the gift of sounds is so versatile.)

Weapon: A metaphysical manifestation of Edward's soul currently in the shape of a wakizashi. Edward produces it from the hole in his side. It's battered, chipped and stained but it gets the job done.

History: A vagrant on the streets of tokyo since he was little, Edward has generally had a shit time of it. He's had to resort to stealing, handouts and and trickery to survive, until the Speaker gave his fateful speech. He threw himself in front of a car soon afterwards, and has led a happy not-life in the Otherworld for 16 years since. He works as a second class middle adjutant to the minor finaciary assistant of the Foreman.

Appearance: Typically has long black hair, although his first gift means that is subject to change. Generally wears a gray robe that covers most of his body, in an effort to hide his mutations. Has a pentagram burned into his hand, although this was from his life before he arrived in the Otherworld. His skin is a pale blue colour, and under his robe his body is pretty close to skeletal.

Gifts:
-1) Able to change his hair color, eye color, and facial features at will. Control of this gift can sometimes be lost if Armion is subjected to stress.
-2) The darkness does not affect his eyesight. He can see in it as clearly as he can in the light.
-3) Speed and agility are enhanced by low light levels.

Weapon(s): Typically wields two umbrellas made from a rare material as weapons. For various reasons, combat isn't often something that he gets involved in, so he simply uses the umbrellas because they can also keep the rain off him. However, he does have a scythe stored away, and if he suspects that he may become a target for some reason, he will carry that in place of one of the umbrellas.

History: Armion's life was a confusing one. He was born in a small village in Japan, and until the age of 11 lived a fairly normal life for a peasant. Then a tragic accident resulted in him being banished.

He remembers the first two days of his banishment clearly, as they were the hardest in his life. He did not know how to survive, and how to tell what was poisonous and what wasn't. On the third day he took a risk, and bit into a berry he didn't recognize. He started to hallucinate, and here is where his memory trails off. For the next six years, all he remembers is red.

At the age of 17, he snapped out of it. He looked around him, and saw what looked like the aftermath of a battle. As he stared, he suddenly felt immense fatigue overcome him. He collapsed to the ground, and when he opened his eyes he was in the Nocturnal district of the Otherworld.

Hm. Sorry this took a while, I was thinking about whether to reuse Sylvester or to make a new character.

As a small announcement, we will be starting in the Scholar's District, not necessarily together but I have a way to bring everyone together.

Name: Candouras

Age: 43

Appearance: A tall, body builder like man. His Right arm is mutated. He wears a jacket and always keeps his hood up, but without his hood up he is bald. Inferno red eyes with a tattoo of a fireball over one eye. He speaks with a low gravelly voice making him seem evil at times.He has many scars all over his face and body. They have served reminders to fights that he had been victorious at, and his ruthless aggression.

Gifts: 1- Strength- Basically, Candouras can punch pretty fair sized holes into walls. This helps him when he is fighting with his arm. He has many scars all over his face and body. They have served reminders to fights that he had been victorious at, and his ruthless aggression.

2- Speed- Candouras can run faster and longer than normal humans can. His Athletic ability is also affected by this meaning that he can jump higher than anyone else.

3- Shadow- Candouras can blend into any shadows when he is out matched, causing him to be safe and undetected when he needs to retreat. This also helps him take out targets with

Weapon: Candouras only uses his Right arm as his weapon. His right arm as both a shield and a sword.
History: Candouras had grown up in the slum district, and that is where he had witnessed in horror along with his little brother, his mother and fathers death at the age of 7. Ever since then he has been an aggressive, merciless person. Looking for revenge, and killing who ever he can.

He still remains in the slum district now. After his mother and fathers death, he got stronger. Soon started street fight and never lost once. He has been wounded, and almost killed. But never lost. That would be the death of him first. Most of the time, Candouras's brother has to pull him off of his opponents so he doesn't kill them. Candouras's arm mutated sort of by it's self. He never knew why, but he just rolled with it, so it had become an everlasting weapon of his.

But Candouras is not evil. He is very far from evil. He is just driven by rage and revenge. Of that ever lasting memory. He stopped street fighting, and became a vigilante of sorts. Though, he still mercilessly beat the living souls out of the people he hunted, and ripped most of them to shreds. But because of him being a vigilante, he has been hunted by other vigilantes, mercs, and bounty hunters.

He has stopped being a vigilante also, and now he remains in the back alleys of buildings and remained hidden with his brother.
