I enjoy outfit mechanics, the more unconventional the better.

Some time ago, I came across my all-time favorite outfit.

Take a minute. Wrap your head around what is going on.

Some things of note:

1. She is not showing cleavage, just wearing a very tiny, white tie.

2. The sleeves to shoulders are clearly independent from the rest of the outfit.

3. #2 is being held on by a neck belt.

4. Those things that look like garters? Actually a single belt-like thing that goes around the thighs. Keeps the lower part of the back dress covering her butt. A half-back skirt, if you will.

5. Those socks were too big, so she simply made them taut by attaching them to her belt.

I may have some things wrong, since it quickly goes right into puzzle box territory when parts appear and disappear between panels.

Bottom line: I am in love with this outfit. I never knew how much I wanted detachable arm covers until now.

This thread is for you to post any outlandish character outfits that you have enjoyed trying to break down into parts. The more lengths you have to go to justify the mechanics the better. Bonus points for creativity and wear-ability.

It's not magic.
The lower section, of the black part, of the dress is simply attached to her gloves. The black part is molded plastic, since normal cloth would not reflect light like that.

For those who notice, this character is not an amputee. The guy just forgets to draw arms a lot. :/

Rule of thumb: If an outfit made you roll your eyes and move on, if it did not beg for more analysis, it is no good. See: Chainmail bikini, Combat Stilletoes, ect.

Real world outfits are also OK, if you feel they were put together in an unconventional way.

I would have to disagree with you, since she's showing a lot of underboob. Technically cleavage is the area between a woman's breasts, so whether it's visible from the top or the bottom makes no difference, it's still cleavage.

Huh, I always labeled underboob and cleavage as two different categories. The more you know I suppose.
