Have you ever been playing a game and stumbled across the most unsubtle attempts at getting you to buy a product? did it actually work?
This struck me while playing MGS and had to sit through the 4 minute installation screen watching snake puff his way through a lucky strike cigarette. If it wasn't bad enough that snake is so insanely badass that watching him smoking instantly makes smoking appear to be as cool as a quick skinny dip in arctic waters, the loading screen might as well have finished with snake smiling and winking at the camera and "Smoke lucky strike - you'll be a hardcore, undercover, robot destroying, terrorist klling pussy magnet"
Anyone else have any similar issues while gaming?
Is it ok that they can put things like this in games that will inevitably be played by children to young to make the descisions on their own?
tl;dr adverts in game, are they ok or is it abusing a market that's already abused?
