The overlord you play in the first game is a human, one of the heroes who defeated the last overlord. He has a son because, well, Velvet/Rose becomes pregnent at the end of the expansion. And I doubt it's from someone else.

The guy wasn't dead for that long, probably like a half a month after he died with the heros. Also there is Magic, good chance he could have used that to heal his body

Not really, he was brought back from near death by the remaining forces of evil, placed in some kind of incubation device and then basically used by them for the purpose of rebuilding an empire for the "real" overlord.

Oh well, the old died and the new one didn't.

Also why does undead mean he cannot have children? The brain would be working again, who is to say, thus making teh rest of the body start working again, why would the testies not start up again?

Sperm cells die relatively quickly, so that would be one of the first things to go. If the testes could be healed, though, the general idea could work.
