Does anyone here know what's going on with my analog stick? This is my xbox360 controller of several years. It came with the 360 the day I bought it- the day the xbox came out actually -. Anyways, more to the topic of this thread is its problem:

The left analog stick is very very oversensitive. If I just just touch it, it will start drifting my cursor left (using it on a pc atm) and I'm talking about less than .5mm of movement will cause it to drift left and stick left. I think the contact or whatever that picks up the response from the stick is too close. Any way of fixing it? I can solder and generally know my way around tools so that's my experience as far as fixing things.

Bring it to the store.

Chances are high they'll repair or give you a new one.
They gave me a new one.

Is is just on one PC game or on others and also on the console? I think that the "deadzone" that controls how far you have to move a stick to get a reaction is controlled by games for the 360 controller on pc.

It's not any game. It's just my desk top. But it happens on the 360 also.

Oh okay. Well thanks to you I've resolved the problem. I had to increase the dead zone radius on program. Thanks for the contribution. Problem resolved.
