Well, I happen to find myself bored, and I've never actually started a thread before, so let's take this opportunity to talk about something.

Anyone else find it hard to reign their imaginations in? Is it a human problem, or just a processing problem for some of us, that when given an uncertainty that might have several wildy varying outcomes, to just get bogged down trying to figure out what will happen?

Yes.

I don't pay much attention in classes that are easy or don't interest me. So I spend most of my time thinking about my novel or writing it. Or even being on the Escapist on my phone.

I zone out way too often when in a car. if there's music going, I zone out with the imagined realm based off the currently playing song. If there's no music, I drift off to one of my already made realms.

I have lived here since '06 and I only know how to get to church (2 rights) and back. I'm supposed to be paying attention to the roads because I will be learning to drive soon (A week ago Furburt would of possibly been surprised by this) and it helps to know where you're driving.

I don't have reign over my Imagination, it has reign over me.

My imagination often either gets me in trouble or causes me to look like a freak. I drift off all the time. My thoughts seem to be made in an acid trip.

Wow, the pimp posted on the thread o_O. Getting carried away is pretty easy sometimes, innit? Especially when you have something to write; I'm doing a playwriting class and I'm constantly coming up with new options I want to think about but never write them down. ><

I zone out even when I am zoned out to begin with. It goes on like that in a spiralling circle. Really though I think my head is encased in a (hypothetical) bubble. I am unaware of so many things going on around me and sometimes the thoughts I get are utterly mad. They are ideas all the same. Sometimes in school I completely forget where I am due to vivid daydreams which seem to perpetually hassle me. I look at it as hassle because it gets in the way of my concentration, which is usually alright in class. I can't stop thinking about characters I have created and what I could do with them in novels and short stories.

I think our entire generation is suffering from ADD. Seriously. We are overstimulated from our birth with too much information. It is the information age. So our attention spans become brief, our minds wander more quickly, and unless something can hook us in under 3 seconds we get bored.

I used to day dream quite frequently, however due to a multitude of issues I've had to stay focused when doing anything of importance.

I drift off during something boring or when I'm walking somewhere, but other then that I don't have a problem paying attention.

With me It's all about connecting things to me.
e.g. Jessica Alba is human (far as I know) and so am I. I try and get really complicated with these things until *oh a shiny red ball*

Definitely. Unfortunately, paranoia and a creative imagination go horribly together. Most of the time, though, I try to think things over clearly.

Eh, sometimes. I have the, as far as I know, unique ability to think about different things simultaneously. Like my mind can be processing several different trains of thought in the background, and my focus bounces between them more or less at random unless I put a conscious effort into stopping it. This tends to lead to some rather spectacular lapses in attention, especially in the middle of conversations.

So yea, I occasionally have some trouble with my imagination running off with one part of my mind, but it's usually not much of a problem.

I never have that problem, for what will happen will happen. There are far too many factors and outcomes for even the most powerful supercomputer to start to calculate. I go through life from problem to problem, and rely in my own morals to drive me in the right direction.

I spend just about all of my time alone so I over think everything and my imagination runs wild, from really trivial things to massively important ones to cage fights.

I always over think. Constantly in fact.
Like, when I was wondering whether or not I should have ice cream, my mind began to wonder what such a food would imply about our society?
What fools are we to freeze cream, and then flavor it?
How mad do we have to be?
And then I asked the real question:
What the hell am I doing, eating ice cream, when it is 20 degrees Fahrenheit in my house?

Think you have me beat there- although it does pose an interesting question.

Two, actually: Just how mad are we? And why is is 20 degrees in your house?

1.) I don't know
2.) I honestly don't have a damn clue, although by judging my family, I'd say they thought it was too hot. Gr....

I overthink constantly. Sometimes I find myself walking home and not remembering a second of that walk because I was thinking for most of the time. It's kind of like zoning out.

I also worry over trivial shit and think about small interactions that I have with people. Like if I talk to a store clerk and notice something interesting I end up thinking about it for most of day in intervals.
