Ow, My Teeth...

So I had to drop by the dentist to get my front bottom teeth drilled, cored, and crowned.

The teeth in question were root-canaled the old-fashioned barbaric way 20 years ago, therefore the procedure itself was straightforward. The real problem lay in the surrounding teeth being extremely sensitive to the cold and the dentist completely shredding and bruising my gums around the drill-sight.

That's the short of what happened. I have temps on right now and will get the real fakes put in on Feb 9.

I'm not looking for sympathy or anything. Shit happens. What I need help with is suggestions on what to eat until then.

I've been banned from biting things with the front of my mouth, especially so in the next few days (since I'm in a ton of pain). I can't have raw fruits or vegis (such as apples and carrots), I can't have acidic things, I can't have cold things, and I can only have meat if it's chopped up into small portions. They suggested to me: Soup and tea. And to soak my mouth in warm salt water a few times a day.

There is no possible way I can live off of soup! Tea... maybe. But not soup! By the gods not the soup!

... Help!

Cup-a-noodles is a brand? Or is it just a ramen cup?

But I LOVE soup!

Can you have mashed potatoes?
Oh, and silky soft tofu with a decent marinade can be good when craving something savory.

Someone already mentioned Cup Noodles(Or as I call them 'Oodles-o-Noodles'). They also sell the rectangular packages without the little veggies in them, the cooking method is just a little different.

What about oatmeal? It's very soft when cooked and also quite warm. To keep it from being boring you can check recipes on the internet for inspiration. It's really quite easy to spice up a bowl of oatmeal . =) Alternatively you can try other hot cereals like cream of wheat or grits.

You can also try rice that has been cooked soft, same for other cooked grains, pasta(without veggies or huge bits of meat), and maybe even beans. Cook any of those long enough and they will be pretty soft.

Stovetop cooked puddings are good for a sweet tooth and you really can't get much softer than pudding.

Oh and mac-n-cheese. Can never go wrong with the mac.

That is all I can think of off the top of my head. I hope this helps and I hope your mouth recovers soon. =)

I use to love soup... Until that one time......

Oh! I can have mashed potatoes! Grand!

I sadly lack a good marinade idea to use with tofu. Do you have any suggestions? I am a carnivore with cattle-farm brethren and thus not well trained in the methods of cooking and preparing tofu.

I said multiple awesome suggestions! Read back a post or two!
Mac and Cheese! Rice! BRILLIANT!

Yes, I can have oatmeal. I will have to acquire some in the following day.

For one reason or another Mac and Cheese is such an obvious and perfect suggestion that I'm astounded I hadn't thought of it when making the thread... I blame the tranqs they gave me.

Pudding. I'd have said ice cream too, but that's cold. I remember eating a lot of pudding and ice cream back when I had my wisdom teeth out. I recovered fast though >=/
Pudding! A lot of people are recommending pudding to me. It never occurred to me that it is sold in cheap little plastic containers Unrefrigerated.

I had my wisdies surgically removed a few years ago. I ended up with lockjaw and was bedridden for days, retching every 10 seconds initially because of some unknown allergy to Codeine. It was a fond memory! My life at that time consisted of Cream of Chicken soup and Mt Dew through a straw.
