But....but....but....it is an AMAZING conversational piece!!!!! IT WILL GET YOU LAID!!!!! LOL!!!!I'm not sure I'd be willing to throw down 300 bones for something that would probably frighten off my dates when I bring them home.
Well $324.99 is not a bad price for a pump action shotgun so i will take a few lolvansau said:The regular run of this statue will sell for $299.99, while the "exclusive" version of the figure (read: first run) will sell for $324.99 and comes with a to-scale pump action shotgun
Here, I'll explain pricing. Let's take something reasonably "Cheap" a bottle of Crown Royal. A basic glass bottle of crawn royal costs the compant a grand total of about $0.15 to make. the glass bottle is about $0.145 of that, and the liquor costs maybe half a penny. Yet the bottle of crown Royal can hit you up for $40.00 easily.Assassin Xaero said:Seriously? $300 for something that is a little over a food tall? $50 seems on the more reasonable high end of a price range...
So to add into the high end model, you don't just toss plastic in a mold, spray paint it and you're done. The materials are usualy top quality, or close to them. Sometimes, there can be a metal rod in the figurine to reinforce it. The model is put together "labourously" (or just VERY slowly to make sure they get paid the most for the hour, you decide). The painting is ALL done with tiny paint brushes and high quality paints.John Funk said:You... must not get many high end models.

When selling a kit like that, multiple companies take into consideration the cost of the materials, and time to paint/cast the item, plus the " Cast in high quality poly-stone, the statue is hand finished and hand painted to exacting standards" really should have tipped you off.Dungus said:Are all high end collectibles that expensive then? Why not make them less expensive, and overthrow the cheap/crappy collectibles market? Don't shoot me if I sound ridiculous, I don't know what I'm talking about.

THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS! Seriously, some of the people in here need to hit the shops more often. I've seen stuff far less impressively crafted than this tank figurine, yet still go for well past the $500 mark. Mind you, I'm talking about stuff that serves the exact same purpose as the tank statue; to sit around and be looked at.Celtic_Kerr said:Here, I'll explain pricing. Now if they put that Bottle in a velvet bag, it costs the company maybe an extra $0.03, and yet the consumer pays more than $5.00 extra. For shits and giggles, Crown Royal can also come in a gift box. Card board. Costs the company about $0.02 or $0.03, and yet it's an additional $10.00 for us to buy it. So you know how pricing and mark ups work. See below for an evaluation of the high end model

So if card board, a cheap velvet bag, a piece of glass, half a penny's worth of alcohol, and an assembly line cost you upwards of $60, imagine when you factor in high quality materials and hand crafted precision, becasue now you're paying for the hours gone into making the figurine as well.
