oxidization on rechargable batteries

Hello all I was wondering how to get rid of the oxidization crap off the Wii remote rechargeable batteries its on the back where the charger touches the battery looked all over the net cannot find a answer please help.

Here's a bit of advice [http://www.ehow.com/how_6373770_remove-rust-battery-charger.html] regarding cleaning certain electronic contacts. Another thing I had heard was using a pencil eraser to get rid of light oxidation.

Now, if the batteries have leaked then you're in for more work, but to be honest, I've never experienced or even heard of rechargeable batteries leaking. It's just the electrical contacts, right?

From that link I referenced, I had never considered using mineral oil, and I suppose it would work when used as a cleaner, but take note that they suggest buying mineral oil from a hardware store, not from a drug store. I guess what they mean is don't use the mineral oil that's used as a laxative. Geez, that's...that's not a pleasant idea at all.
