Congrats on living a long life living on air and water.

The plants you wish to save need to be eaten by your animals, so to save the plants the animals will have to stop eating aswell.

/thread your point is fail :p
Good point. That kinda makes me wish I didn't post now, so that would be the end of the thread.

Ah well, if I didn't post someone else would.
We are eating the animals though so in a way you could say it works:p

Enough is enough! For years upon years, barbarians such as P.E.T.A. and other vegan organizations have mercilessly attacked the environment under the banner of equality and ethics- but no more. Today, fellow Escapists, marks the beginning of a new era, one driven by true environmentalism, one fueled by a desire to help those who cannot fight for themselves, one that does not punish the selfless and helpless. Today, I hearby create the new group P.E.T.P.- or, People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants. Its ironic that most of those who call themselves "green" devour our leafy brethren, almost daily, without remorse. Did you know that plants actually help revert global climate change? Its true! They take in the dangerous CO2 emitted by careless animals through their selfish respiration process, and turn it into Oxygen, the gas of life. Yet people who say they wish to save the planet go out of their way to compose an unnatural, discriminatory diet plan that singles out plants and targets them as victims. I have had enough of the lies and double talk- plants are the lifeblood of the planet, selfless, silent heroes providing the rest of us unworthy creatures with oxygen and homes. They should be revered, not eaten by power-hungry maniacs who seek to create a dark world where animals reign supreme over such majestic beings as redwoods and sunflowers. Even the common garden weed, thought of as a pest by thoughtless humans, has rights in the eyes of Mother Nature. Speaking of gardens- which are seen as peaceful to humans- they have to stop. These death camps, along with farms, not only treat plants as slaves (they are often planted into a boring society composed of acres of the same plant, and are often periodically sprayed with posion) using them to work land, only to eat them when they grow old, but they also propogate a negative speciesist image where animals are seen to have a natural, god-given dominion over nature's leafy beauties. And gardens and farms are only two examples of the thousands of mistreatments plants face due to animal hands.

Please help the cause of P.E.T.P., and end this inter-kingdom war before it destroys both Animalia and Plantae as we know it. You can even help us today! The next time you think about eating a plant, just remember P.E.T.P., and have an animal instead. It may seem cruel, but animals have far more right to feed on each other than they do to viciously devour the innocent plant. That salad may sound delicious, but please, for the sake of ethics and the environment, have a hamburger instead. If you really want to help, wheat buns can be tastily simulated with squirrel fur! With the help of people like you, we can really make a difference.

Thank you for reading, and remember, the power is yours!
Yes, this fits perfectly into my plan to eradicate all life!
But now the serious stuff: Do you count fungi as plants?

Now brother, I do not want any racism in this thread. Those who have accepted the way of the plant and are now hybrids are perfectly welcome. Plants are a loving bunch, willing to help others see the light.

What if we only eat carnivores?
That is a possible answer to the problem. Fungi, natural enemies to the plant, insects, and raw sugar, distilled from animal entrails of course, not barbarically taken from the sugar cane plant, are also excellent food sources for the animals we intend to eat. Some might suggest gene-splicing, in order to give our livestock photosynthetic powers, but that might not be ethical- as I would have a hard time eating animals knowing they are part plant. Still, superscience holds many environmentally friendly solutions to this so-called "conundrum." With our powers combined, anything is possible!

My pet Elephant Ears aren't slaves! They aren't even mistreated! I water them and give them love every day!
They love me! And they even purr and rustle whenever a wind blows!

The ones who have gotten the short end of the stick are the mushrooms! People treat them as pests! They even go so far as to eat them on pizza! Such savagery!

I hereby found the P.E.T.F., People for the Ethical Treatment of Fungi! Kiss a shroom today!
Gasp! A slaver and fungi sympathizer has found his way into our thread. Shun him, I say, shun him! Fungi are even worse than animals, slowly killing our beloved plants from the inside-out, and stealing their food rather than making their own. Their lazy presence must be fought against, and we shall either convert fungi to feed only upon animals (as is the case with athlete's foot) or their own kind, lest they face punishment by being fed to our livestock.

you know that is an interesting question....

obviously they will have to be tertiary consumers, but usually they consume secondary consumers. It may work, but I think the way it works that a plant will have to be eaten eventually... but im not sure, maybe there is a food chain that could work?

Depending on the exact stance of PETP on this we could have a foodchain with animals who eat decaying plant matter at the bottom (worms or somesuch). Or human remains, that should be fine.

I shall join P.E.T.P though I have another possible acronym for our group.
Organisms for the Revolution against Animal Lovers and those who Selectively Eat Xylems*.

*Xylems= tubes only in plants that transport water and provide support for the plant

Better or worse?

Anyway these cruel people have been eating our adorable awesome plants. The plants give us life and they give them death! A lack of honour and respect I say!

Please don't get this thread locked and just play along with the topic creator's joke.

As a proud card carrying member of PETP I fully endorse this thread.

Well ok the card carrying member isn't accurate but I do love this thread. Being someone who lives around farms, and have worked for a few, I know the horror stories that the plants themselves just can't tell. Factory farming isn't just chickens and cows!

Repent, REEEEPENT!

And eat a Peta member today!

We eat (carnivore) meat, Fungi (well, not me but some people might), and minerals. Until someone starts PETCLAM (People for the Ethical Treatment of Carbon Lifeforms And Minerals) and makes us all starve...

Sorry I'm already part of the group PWAO (People who are Omnivores) and as you can see our interests conflict
For me I'm more PWAC (People who are Carnivores) since I mostly eat meat, and it sounds funny when you say it

I like the sound of this one! How and when can I join? If it costs more than nothing a month, however, I am no longer interested.

You can still eat mushrooms and fungi... Oh, and you can still eat raw fat and sugar to keep you up.

Nope I can't fat that comes from animals and sugar comes from plants, can't eat them either.

No, I mean, live on your own fat. You eat your fat, and you gain your fat.. Perpetuum mobile!! I mean, eternally moving!

Now, to find out how to change CO2 into O2 and live without having to breathe outside air...

as a member of Greenpeace, I hail your founding as a great and ambitious attempt to bring to attention some very important factors of environmentalism! however, there are some points I think we should also address:

1. the investigation and prevention to the disappearing bee's - just like plant's are our saviours, bee's are the saviours of plants. Yet, they are disappearing at an alarming rate - we need to find out WHY they are disappearing, make sure the general public know of this fact, and find a way to prevent further disappearance and possible extinction of the bee's.

2. stop eating cows! - though I disagree with total veganism, cows do infact create huge amounts of greenhouse gases (methane); more so, infact, than all the worlds vehicles (cars, planes, etc) combined . The farming of these animals must stop! Scientists have suggested Kangaroo's as an alternative, as they create much less methane, and are possible to farm, even though they are not being farmed at the moment.
