Pachter: Why Would Anyone Buy A Wii U?

No offence, but Pachter is the same guy who predicted the original Wii to be a colossal failure, and was proven wrong by history.
I really don't give a crap what he says. Or what he thinks. He doesn't have a very good track record with his predictions, and everyone who does the least bit of research would know what.

OT: I bought it for Nintendo first party content mostly, otherwise I'll have every system anyway because thats just how I roll, with a main system being the PS4 and my PC, with a Vita and 3DS about for toilet gaming and the Xbox One as... well something when I figure out what it does and it costs £150 or less.

Well, I've had mine since launch day, I probably don't have as much hate for Pachter as most Nintendo fans, but he's ALWAYS wrong when it comes to his Nintendo predictions.
It's no secret people buy Nintendo consoles because of Nintendo games, or because the Wii for example was a huge sensation that attracted lots of non-gamers to buy it. The list keeps growing for why the Wii U is a good console, why doesn't Pachter see that?
Besides, if one console is looking bad at the moment, it's Xbox One, which even I seriously doubt will fail anyway.

Because even a great hack-and-slash is still just a hack-and-slash game. They're not system sellers and, lets face it, they're pretty much all shit. They make FPS games look like the Shakespear of the gaming world by comparison. Hitting hordes of things that just stand there like lemons. All flash and no bang. It won't be for everyone, and doesn't have near the explosive mass market appeal that the original Wii did, but as a gamer the WiiU has already impressed me more than the Wii ever did, cumulatively over its lifespan. Though that's not saying much, as I barely touched the Wii.
So far there are only 2 games on system i'm interested in and they haven't been released yet. Even Vita have more games i'm interested in, so i bought it. So yeah of course i won't buy WiiU anytime soon.
