I just saw Pacific Rim.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
As a fun aside, since they never tell you the proportions of the robots, I tried to calculate their size for myself. Came to 250-ish feet.
My math is based on the shot where it punches into an office building and we see its clenched fist is about 10 feet tall. (Most office buildings are about 10 feet per floor) The robots are mostly based on human proportions, so my math was based on ideal human proportions, and some slight self-testing. By my measurements, a human head is 3.5 times the height of a clenched fist. The human head makes up about a seventh of human height. Therefore 3.5 x 7 x 10 = 245.
This is very informal and based on a lot of guesswork, but I thought it would be fun to share.
What are your estimates/calculations on the sizes of everything?
