Before we get started here are the obligatory...

Flogging Molly

Dropkick Murphys

The Pogues

These are the most popular bands in the US anyway. I would assume that Planxty is still pretty popular across the pond.

So... Tell me what "Irish" bands you like.

I have been on a long quest for awesome irish music, particularly of the punk variety.

If anyone needs some suggestions for the Paddy's Day soundtrack let me know. I have music from several bands.

Ok, I promise to only shamelessly selfbump this once. But no responses? serious?

Here is an awesome irish band I found in my search....
a punk rendition of a song popularly done by The Pogues.

Probably the most popular song by The Tossers would be No Loot, No Booze, No Fun...

I'm a fan of Irish music.
Nice! The Dubliners were actually in town in here not that long ago.
Some of the traditional bands are great. I think that the absolute best traditional rendition of Rocky Road to Dublin was by Quilty. Unfortunately I can not find it on youtube.
The second best though is Dropkick Murphys...

I have to say that I really miss the days when metal was not all guttural grunts and screaming. Thank you though. :)

I think I had some more melodic "irish" metal but got rid of it. It was kinda boring.

I like Davy Spillane and David Arkenstone.
They're Irish, right?
Davy is apparently from Ireland direct though Dave is from Chicago. I guess we wont hold that against him since most "irish bands" are not from Ireland anyway. The only bands I know are from Ireland are U2, Planxty, and Stiff Little Fingers.

Here's an interesting one. Irish Stew of Sindidun are Irish Serbian...

Pardon the IRA love.
