Nope, unless your book is different from mine.
I actually found the right line before seeing your post.

""What sort of ship are we in?" Asked Arthur as the pit of eternity yawned beneath them"
Do you have paperback or hardcover? Mine is the latter.

I'll admit, I was just as surprised as you are.
Hardcover as well. It must have something to do with where they start to count (the bastards!). In mine there is a "guide to the guide" with roman numerals, a picture, some blank pages, a tiny introduction on page 5-6, and then chapter 1 apparently starts on page 7. I've never understood why authors/publishers do this, just start the damn book one page 1. :p

"But then it began to whisper and welcomed im more and more exuberantly, until he had to rein in those wildly leaping flames, imitating the sound of their crackling until the fire sank lower, like a wildcat that will crouch down and purr if you stroke its fur carefully enough."
-Inkspell, Cornelia Funke.

That's one heck of a long sentence. This is not qualifiying manga or magazines.

Not bad, but it really doesn't have a lot to do with the main plot of the book.

Which by the way, is a thoroughly amazing memoir, I heartily recommend it to anyone. If your wondering as to what it's about, hit me up with a message.
I'm looking forward to that, I'm plowing through 'A Wolf At The Table' right now.
But that's 2 sentences,lol.
