I was wondering how many Escapists play airsoft, paintball, or both? Which one do you prefer, and why? What game types do you play the most? What's your favorite gun?

For me, I enjoy both. Airsoft is the one I enjoy most, though: I have enough trustworthy friends that I can play without any cheating, it can be more strategic (the guns we use are quiet), we can design our own battlefields much easier, and we don't have to worry about staining property.

But I enjoy paintball too. We just don't usually have a large enough place to play without houses nearby, or enough guns for everyone.

For game modes, I enjoy CQB (we use extra wall-siding to build bunkers right beside each other in a group of trees) and woodsball, as my friend's family owns a large portion of woods.
We also played a game before where several of us stayed in someone's basement while other people ran around shooting in through the windowsills.

Please, discuss. Just don't make this a flame war between paintball and airsoft. They're both really fun.

I'd love to get into Paintball sometime. I haven't really had a chance to...

As for Airsoft, I used to collect some of the weapons for them. I had about two cock-action Winchesters and a burst-fire SMG. I never really PLAYED, but I would occasionally shoot cans in my backyard. I was a pretty nifty shot until I realized those pellets were extremely hard to find... -_-

I prefer Airsoft, because there's a site bout 15 mins from my house, and the people that go there are really friendly.

I used to play paint ball, but I didn't have the funds to play as much as i wanted to.

Then I switched to Airsoft. Bought a pretty good electric M4 and a-lot of rounds, and I play about once a month with my buddies.

Since you don't have to pay for Co2 all the damn time its a little easier, but being hit with a paint ball is a little more desirable.

Bought a bunch of gear including my own marker

Planning to add the TAC-8 (rightside pistol, doesn't mock up) and a BT-4 (below) to my arsenal as well...

But the biggest cost is the clips for the TAC8/9 pistols. $60-65 a piece, I have only two, but one of them is remote-air converted for rifle/hopper use, so really I have only one usable clip, and really don't want to play with any less than three per pistol. That means, going John Woo (dual pistols) I need to buy four more clips (one will come with the T8), or alternatively, the T9 in rifle form and the T8 pistol means I need only 1 more.

That...is hardcore. I will admit that. I never liked speedball either. It seemed like the adrenaline rush didn't even come on until after the match, at which point it was useless.
