No, this isn't about a new Paper Mario.
This is a fanfic/storyline for a new game. If this belongs in another thread, tell me and I'll post it where it belongs. For now enjoy...
Paper Mario: The First Hero
Pre-Prologue
The game starts out just like the second one. Parakarry(or some other mail delivery paratroopa) goes to the Mario Bros. mail box and says "Mail Call". Luigi goes outside to get the mail, goes back inside, and tells Mario that the letter is from Peach. He starts to read it:
"Dear Mario, while doing my spring cleaning I found a lot of valuable antiques lying deep in the cellar. I will be having an auction at the castle later today and I hope you can attend. Yours truly, Princess Peach."
Mario arrives at the castle and goes to the room where the auction is being held. There are many guests there, waiting for the auction to begin. Mario goes to talk to Peach.
Peach: Mario, I'm so glad you could make it. The auction will begin as soon as I see what's in this old chest.
She opens the chest. A voice is heard.
???: Princess, is that you? Are you still alive after all these years? I don't know how long it's been since I was put in that chest, but I'm so glad you changed your mind and let me out.
A giant spirit that looks a lot like Bowser comes out of the chest. The guests run away screaming.
Peach: B-bowser?
Spirit: Who is this Bowser you speak of? I am the founder of the Koopa army, the one and only Koopa King!
Peach: W-what? B-but Bowser is the Koopa King!
Spirit: Hm...tell me, are you not Princess Poinsettia?
Peach: Who?
Spirit: Well, now it is becoming clear. Now, you shall come with me.
The spirit snatches Peach and flies away. Mario begins to panic as a Goomba wearing a suit and glasses enters the room.
Goomba: I say, is the auction already over? I'm only a few minutes late! You there, sir, what is going on.
Mario explains
Goomba: A spirit captured the Princess you say? Well, that seems a bit odd...unless...unless she opened the...hurry I can explain all this but this is not the place to talk. We should return to Goom City immediately! On my way in I saw a man with a private helicopter. Perhaps we can talk him into giving us a ride?
The screen shows a helicopter flying through the air while the words Paper Mario: The First Hero appear.
Prologue: The Hero's Tale
The helicopter lands on a helipad on top of a building in a big city. Mario and the Goomba walk off and the helicopter flies away.
Goomba: Follow me. We must go to my library.
Mario follows the Goomba automatically, you don't have to control him(think of when he followed Jolene at the beginning of the Glitz Pits level in TTYD)
Goomba(while walking): I just realized, we haven't formally introduced ourselves. My name is Goombston. I am a buyer and seller of antiques and the founder of the Goom City library. When we get there, I believe I can explain what's going on. Now, what might your name be.
Mario explains
Goombston: Mario? You mean the Mario who has rescued the Princess on multiple occasions? Oh, what luck that I ran into you! Ah, here we are, now we can go in and I'll explain.
Mario and Goombston enter the library. Goombston walks over to a book shelf and gets a book while Mario goes to the table. Goombston brings the book over to him.
Goombston: Ah, this should make everything clearer.
"Many generations ago, there was a Koopa known as Koopicus. He was just a normal Koopa living in the Mushroom Kingdom. Then one day he met Princess Poinsettia, and fell in love with her. However, he knew he could never have her unless he took her by force. He got a few friends to join him and they became the Koopa Army. They went to attempt to capture the Princess and some other Koopas noticed. These Koopas thought that Koopicus was kidnapping the Princess for a ransom, and joined him to get there own share of the ransom money. The news of this "ransom" spread throughout all the Koopas until the army became enormous. The kidnapping was successful, or so they thought. However a young Toad named Musharo battled his way through the koopa army and reached Koopicus. After a long battle, Musharo captured Koopicus's spirit in a chest and rescued Princess Poinsettia. Koopicus's best friend, Koopon, was now seeking revenge. After five years of searching for Musharo's weakness, she created The Seven Stars of Gold, which she used to turn Musharo into a statue. She then hid the Stars of Gold throughout the world because if anyone was to place them in the base of the statue, the hero would be free of the curse".
If you want any chance at defeating Koopicus's spirit and rescuing Princess Peach, you must find the Seven Stars of Gold and bring back the Musharo, for only he knows the Koopa King's weakness. It is also said that whenever a Star of Gold is found, the location of the next will appear on top of the base of the statue. Fortunately, I purchased the statue years ago at an auction. It is sitting in the basement of this very building, right down those stairs.
Mario and Goombston go down the stairs and see a bandit stealing antiques.
Goombston: Hooligan! You return those antiques immediately!
Bandit: Oh yeah, fight me for them!
*Battle Tutorial*
Bandit: Fine! Here's your stupid stuff!
He runs away
Goombston: Well, that was educational for both of us. You learned how to fight and I learned to keep the door locked. Well anyway, here's the statue. The location of the first star isn't written on it, however I read somewhere that Koopon kept one star for herself and it was passed down through many generations. Perhaps the current Koopa King's partner Kammy Koopa has it. There is a pipe leading to the woods where her home is located in the West side of town. If you don't mind, I would like to join you on your quest. Throughout my travels I have seen many places and may have information useful to you. What do you say?
*Goombston's abilities are the same as Goombario's and Goombella's. Big surprise*
Mario and Goombston go to the pipe, only to be attacked by the same bandit.
Bandit: Hey, you chumps got lucky last time, but let's see you beat Bobby Bandit again!
Fight him again
Bobby: Ugh...I won't give up! I'll be back!
He runs away, you go down the pipe.
So that's the prologue. Tell me what you think.
