My mom was actually insulted that I didn't take her friend request. After a while, I've accepted her. Since then, I stopped myself from posting stupid comments. My mom rarely uses Facebook to connect with me. You know how I manage that? I call her on the phone.

I'm 30 and my parents are my friends on Facebook. It's fine when they comment on things... but they will also scold me when I say non-positive things. Seriously. I get in a car accident and swear on Facebook, I get a phone call saying that's not a good idea and to take it down.

... Yeah. I post on Facebook maybe once a month now.

I'm the only one in my family (except my nine-year-old brother) who isn't on Facebook, but when my older brother comes home from Uni in the holidays, she frequently tells him off and also tells him how she disapproves of the weird shit that his friends put up there, which is mildly amusing.

I don't have Facebook ..... I know the shock and horror :O

But seriously the sooner it dies the better IMO. In fact when it does I'll be throwing myself a little celebration. That's just how F'ing annoying I find it. You know what else bothers me too? When we're sat in a cafe/restaurant and my friends and sometimes even members of my family are glued to their smart phones. Like SERIOUSLY we're having a meal, can't you put your phone down for five F'ing minutes?

My parents don't use Facebook, they can't be bothered. I have two aunts who have pages but they are rarely on. I'm pretty sure they were just talked into making pages. My siblings have pages and they used be on it very frequently, but they seem bored of it now. So, it could be A LOT worse - from some of the family social networking site horror stories I've come across.

Not my parents but all my older sisters are on facebook and they keep giving a bolloxing for not adding them as friends or accepting their requests. I've nothing against them but I just can't have them seeing my photos.....

My shame.....

My mom tried to make a Facebook page but deleted it when she realised it showed her age, I neglected to tell her that you can hide it.

That was probably a bit mean.

My Mother is on Facebook and she kept posting image macros of How special daughters are (I'm her only child) but she was posting them like multiple times a day and it was getting creepy. I commented nicely if she could cut it back, it was getting a little weird (another note, I'm not remotely close with her). She called later in the day an flipped out on me, so I hung up the phone.

I ended up blocking my Mother from seeing my posts and I removed her feed so I don't see her posts. I could have un-friended her but I'm sure I would have gotten another upset phone call.

It's been a year or so, since I did that and it was the best thing ever.

My mum has facebook and at first I wouldn't add her because as I said to her at the time we lived in the same house, I was eighteen and she was totally aware of what I got up to. Later on when her and Dad moved to a different city I added her 'cause it seemed important to her and to date the only thing she's said that annoyed/embarrassed me was when she tried to tell me I wasn't allowed people over (my sister and I still lived in the family home) for some casual drinks. That'd be fair but, as I pointed out to her, about eight people were coming and being a reasonable lady she let it go. Aside from that maybe one or two parent jokes but that doesn't bother me.

I just don't add them.
End of Story.
They call me if they wan't to know something and vice versa. I use FB for Friends and that's what i told them.
In the case of other relatives i usually don't have contact with, there is a reason for that, so i don't accept their request.
Its not that hard, just have the guts to tell them that they aren't part of the circle of people you consider friends.

The only times I ever use facebook is as tech support for my mom's account... to go un-do a like she didn't mean to hit, or block someone she didn't mean to friend.

That interface has gone downhill a long way from its inception. I'd be pissed off if I had any use for it.

Annoy? My mom uses Facebook a lot more than I do...

With that said...
No...

I think the closest I got to a relative "annoying" me is whenever my uncle comments on any of my "status updates"... Then again, it rarely happens and it's usually in a joking manner...

Picture of me and a female cosplayer I met at a con: "Did you bone her later?"
Status about drinking too much water: "Are you drunk yet?"
21st Birthday status: "Did you go to a strip club?"

THEN AGAIN, my FB can be summed up as "Oh look! I liked something else on Facebook!! What will I like next?" ...So, there's that...

Not really. I added my sister on Facebook and immedietly my grandmother, a relative and my mom added me. I didn't want them on there, as I don't think it's fit for them to see my drunken adventures, but I was powerless. They don't really bother me however. Mom only uses FB for games, I blocked the relative since she's a hardcore Christian who only posts Jesus and anti-rape propaganda and my grandmother only asks from time to time how things are going.

Had to delete a few pictures though. :(

My mother rarely embarrasses me, but she will just jump into a conversation or thread of jokes and just kill it flat. She also is a very kind and attentive mother who will compliment me in all my photos and I know I should be grateful, but I basically feel embarrassed about it.

And my Feed is full of the latest craze from Facebook; I've had Bitstrips, I see ALL of the "Post this if you love your child" or "Share this if you want to meet the love of your life" and "Like this if you love your Mum" and requests for me to play some Facebook game... And recently she's started adding all the details about her life. I can't even block her because it would be very insulting and rude, but seriously, her sons read that.

Both my parents are on FB, both are pretty tech savvy and both of whom I'm nowhere near ashamed to have as friends. They're both intelligent and awesome people and I've not been embarrassed by them to date.

My mom got a Facebook account that she doesn't use, my dad uses Facebook more than me and it was through one of his status updates I found out he had a heart attack.

"Testing Norwegian healthcare" was what it said. A couple days later he posted a picture of the view outside complaining that he wanted to go home. Yeah, he's fun. It really helped me to stop worrying knowing he took it so lightly.

So no, my parents being on Facebook doesn't bother me. I haven't really posted anything on there so they don't really reply either.

My 80+ yr old grannie is on FB and really the only thing that really bothered me about it was watching her pass my friends list at least 5 times over. Past that, meh.. Who cares, its facebook. I only get on the actual site about once a month- quarter, and simply redirect FB through trillian for chat purposes so I dont get bombarded with idiotic status updates and game requests.
