Parents drool, Kids rule!

Being a teenager is hard! We have to worry about very important things like getting cool clothes and making out with hot chicks. Yet, parents keep on dragging us down and school work is lame.

Discussion Value: What are some of the sucky things that happens to you, teenagers? Or what sucked for you as a teenager if you aren't one anymore?

(If you can't tell that I'm not serious, I lost all hope in humanity)

NOTE: I am not saying that everything a teenager complains about isn't true, but this is just for fun. Let's thank Pirate Kitty for bring this to my attention. I know a ton of adults who are worst at this.

God dang, people really do ruin a comedic thread with their seriousness.

If you're not serious, this thread is silly, and has no discussion value. Good day sir!

You gave me a good laugh, thank you for that, lol. Technically nothing sucky is going on in my life right now, I work, play games and talk to friends and hang out with my sister. It's all good for me.

Being a teenager means that I'm just now trying to figure out my life, where I'm going, and who I am.

So, I'm naturally confused a lot of the time, with a few self-esteem and confidence issues, but all that shit about peer pressure and sex is old-hat at this point, thank God.

In general, my life is pretty happy and anything that isn't is caused by my lack of determination.

Actually I can't really think of any major changes my life has gone through in the last 10 years, other then certain...bodily proportions.

Haha, very good joke sir, very good. I have a friends who started acting like that recently and I have been ignoring her for the most part. It's quite annoying.

*sigh* I wasn't serious about how teenagers know everything.

Sorry, I am just being a dumb redneck Texan who can't explain anything. Now excuse me while I go shoot some queers and rant about seceding from the country. /sarcasm

I hated not being able to spend my money the way I wanted to. I would want a game, the parents would say no. It made me so angry that I couldn't use the money I had earned.

Still... Now that I think of it that money is going towards my university spending right now...

[HEADING=2]NO! I should have been able to buy Mass Effect with my money![/HEADING]

There are people who actually had problems as teenagers and then there were kids who didn't understand that their parents knew better.

I knew they did so I shut up and followed orders. I drank underaged and smoked some things I shouldn't have but my parents didn't care if I experimented as long as my life continued as normal.

Thus, uneventful successful life.

Also, WAAAAH LIFE IS HARD I HAVE EXAMS AND SOCIAL FUNCTIONS.

It's sucky because it's pretty much around the time where life smacks you in the face and says "I'm here. I suck. I don't give a fuck.".

It gets worse later, but it's the first time any sort of societal problems start to kick in.

I think that parents really do get it though. I am argumentative, not because I necessarily disagree with them on everything, but because I need a "why". For example, my parents wouldn't let me play M-rated games a couple years back (I was 13/14 I believe), and I asked, "Why?". They said because they didn't want my brother and sister to see the games that were so violent (they are on the younger end). Reasonable. However, I asked why they couldn't just move the Xbox that no one else uses to my room so they couldn't see. Still haven't gotten a solid answer for that one... hence me being argumentative. Long story short: I don't argue because I assume my parents are wrong, I argue because I need the reason that my parents are right.

I would say that being a "teenager" that my depression isn't based on whats going on now, but the idea that nothing will ever get better.

Yes, let us peddle the myth that all teenagers sulk and whine over their non-existent issues.

Not like teens make up the largest portion of suicides for a reason or anything.
So, you have never heard a person within the 13-19 age group complain about nothing? That is the point of this thread. I am sorry if you or anyone that you know is currently suffering a real problem or issues with suicide/thinking about suicide. But that isn't the point of this thread.

Hormones are a *****, am I right or am I right?
