Parties...?

I've never been much of a party goer either mainly because I'm not overly interested in going most of the time. At University I never went to one nor did I attend pub/clubs and rarely set foot in the Student's Union bar. I've had the odd birthday party (had a fancy dress one last year) but one thing's for sure I've never been to party where "crazy shit" happened.

In the end I don't feel like I've missed out. I much prefer meetups with close friends and family than attending some random party with a whole bunch of people I'm quite unlikely to get along with.

i like to go on partys, but if you don't like alcohol and girls and big groups of people, stay at home. that's your decision.

I likes the ladies... it's just easier to get to know them on a more personal level without the perpetual insurgence of "alpha males", fuelled by alcohol and dance music and with a single minded intention, attempting to hi-jack the conversation. I kid, I kid, hahaha.

It really depends on the party itself. Atleast show up to the party, if you dont like the people and stuff present. Leave. Always give it a shot though, might find nice people to do stuff with another time.

I had an amazing party yesterday. We played Magic: The Gathering (Vintage, Open, Star, and Archenemy), Red Dragon Inn, Chrononauts, Roll to Dodge, and Dread. At various points, we suddenly decided to sing Still Alive (everyone there knew the words), or spin around in a field until we fell over. No alcohol - that would just slow us down.

I've never been to a party. Not saying I wouldn't go, but I have never been invited.

Perhaps I'll invite you to the next one. Play card games much?

House parties are my favourite, a group of my close friends listening to good music and getting drunk. Some of the best nights I've had have been at friends' houses.
I do enjoy going out to, like, club parties, but not as much as I'd rather socialise at a pub.
To be honest, I just like an excuse to dress up and make an effort

Last party I went to was my 15th birthday, I invited only my closest friends because I am not comfortable with getting drunk around anyone else.
It was fun, I didn't do anything too stupid (just mostly fell down and managed to never hurt myself)

I haven't been to any real parties. But I'd like to go aslong as it has people I like and drinking isn't purely to look cool, get drunk and then have a long drama story about drunkeningly hooking up with someone to be the centre of attention..

Parties? Parties are what you threaten me with when you're trying to browbeat me into compliance and make me resent you. They are to me what rats are to Winston Smith or what major-key tonality is to a techno musician. Objects of fear and loathing.

So no, I don't go to parties. Even when I know everyone there, I'm STILL uncomfortable and begin to melt down when forced into a group of more than four people.

Going to parties where you don't know anyone is a bit scary. go with a friend.
Parties are not that bad. You need to get out of your mind that in the past you were not invited to any parties in secondary school, does not mean it should rule over your life. The people who invite you must like you and want to get to know you. Otherwise they would not of wanted you to come.

I was not the party animal in secondary school but i had gone to at least a dozen parties for four years. Also if you go to the parties you can find future friends and even a pretty lady to get to know.

i don't like parties because
1. it's inpersonal, most people i don't know
2. most people at the parties get drunk and become annoying
3. i would rather see a close group of friends where we can talk, order pizza and watch bad movies together.in my opinion much more fun theN parties

Never been invited to one. The parties thrown by the people I know tend to end with the police, so I don't know how to feel about it.

I was at a party last night. I'm sort of awkward around other people, so I don't really like parties, but I find that once I have ingested a suitable amount of beverages, sitting next to someone else, awkwardly not saying anything, is no longer awkward. For some reason, sitting there doing nothing is a perfectly satisfactory experience for me when I've had a bit to drink. While I am normally very awkward around other people, and can't really handle social interaction that well, drinking seems to make it all that more bearable, and I can even handle social situations to some extent. (Although, it might just seem like I am handling them, while I am actually being just as lame as always. In any case, it makes me not worry about the lame-ness and the awkward silences.)

I guess that is a rather unhealthy attitude, and I really shouldn't promote it like that, but I found parties to be a lot more bearable when I no longer had to sit in a corner and watch the others have fun.

I wasn't invited to a party (Excluding children's birthday parties) until I was 16, so I am sort of in the same situation as OP, actually. Except for the 'not drinking' part.

And I would also say: Yes, you should endure for the sake of the social norm. It isn't long since parties were a thing to be endured for me, but back then I still did endure them, because I realized I finally had a shot at a bit of social acceptance now that I was finally being invited to parties; as opposed to in lower secondary school, where I was a complete outcast.

I don't party if only because stabbing a Splicer in the face with a drill, or taking out an entire horde of goblins in one swift round gives me more enjoyment than, say, dealing with a bunch of dancing, sexed-up drunks.

You should go, I found the more I went to, the better it felt to socialise. I used to be a loner too, but now I'm really popular and go to parties, and it feels so much better
And to be fair, my first party I actually gatecrashed, but I was a huge hit and from then on I got invited

I don't trust frat boys, I don't trust alcohol, and I would sooner set a house party on fire than enter it.

I just have to ask: Do you have any experience with alcohol yourself? I did, for the longest time, worry about which side of me it would bring out (I don't feel like I know my psyche very well.). But then, after trying it out in an environment where I felt safe, I discovered that I actually had almost complete control over myself despite being drunk. I was myself, only quite dizzy. It did not turn me into a different person. That said, I don't have firsthand experience with any real excessive drinking, so I wouldn't know what happens then; but in moderation alcohol actually had a really positive effect on me, socially.

I can understand not trusting frat boys though.
