I've thrown about 6 or so house parties in my young life, 3 or so in my own house.

Just try to get as many couples to come, because then the guy brings his buds and the girl brings hers.


Also, alcohol doesn't hurt.

I am one of the few females I know that DOESN'T like to party (except lan party of course ), haven't you heard to stereotype 'party girl'? That would describe >70% of 18-23 years old females here.

Yeah on a few occasions. It's not all bad. On the bright side you and your guy friends are at liberty to do all the dumb shit you wanna do ("Hey everyone, watch this!") and there's no girls to laugh at you/be completely turned off when it all goes horribly wrong!

I refuse to have parties on account of living relatively far off from most my friends and am terrified that not many people will show up making it a failure. I have had parties with just (or mostly just) guys before though, in my opinion its not too bad, but then a party for me is playing poker and talking rather than trying to pickup chicks. (which apparently is why most/some people go to parties? meh)

This is a pretty nerdy community so the response will likely be "Why would I want to?".

But anyways, not fond of the drinking scene, I haven't gotten drunk so this may change, but I am more likely to get a larger get together of about 10 people I know get drunk with them and have some shenanigans. The other one results in people doing things they will regret the next morning...
