soooo... he wants to give himself liver failure as a mean to earn his EX girlfriend some juicy sum of money... hoy ingenious

if he is doing it because he cares about her and wants her to be ok, i think he is a really noble man and haves the most giant balls of steel!! (you should desacrate his tomb after death to take them out and make a monument ***KIDDING***)

if he is, instead doing it as a big "FUCK YOU" to her for everything that went wrong (along the lines of "because of you i killed my self now revolt in self pitty and bloody money) WOW... he must trully be evil

either way, i think he is a genious, i dont think he is mentally unbalanced, i just think he is either really really in love, or in a really really pissed off... disregarding his own well being for those kind of things sounds weirdly refreshing (instead of the ussual "i´m gonna kill my self because nobody loves meee!!!", or "fuck it, i dont care about life any more")

I know a lady that did that. Had severe lung cancer at like age 40 from smoking 2 packs a day. Since she was semi young and had 3 daughters they offered her a transplant but she had to give up smoking first.
She kept smoking, died at like 45 and now her daughters are living with their brother.
I refused to go to her funeral as I just saw her as a selfish ***** who did not care about her own children.
please elaborate, the transplant was from her children or from complete strangers!??

i only knew him for a few months before i changed jobs, never got to know him well enough i just know that was his goal because i overheard him talking once.

either way from the sound of it it was definately because his gf wasnt doing very well in the financial side of life.

Suicide is not worth the stress. especially a long laborious drawn out suicide. that's just my opinion. If he doesn't kill anyone else fine.

basically he is kiling himself in such a way as to win life insurance money for his next of kin.
At least he's not being so selfish about it...
Its just that it hurts the people who care about said person.
Any day could be the day he dies. Any day, those around him will have to clean up his mess while knowing that he did that to himself. And while grieving.

Just imagine this same situation, except the man in question is selfish and abusive and he's got enough leverage to force those who care about him to live up to his whims.

That's kinda sad... things like this are why I don't understand why people that say life is unfair get shot down so fast.

I am of the opinion that suicide can be reasonable and if you disagree you just lack the empathy or the understanding and are quite possibly a twat.

A. i am not in touch with this person any longer, i dont know where he works any longer, nor do i know his number, nor is he my friend, he was my old manager.

also back at the time i coudlnt decide if he needs any help or not, he's a perfectly logical human being that is consiously making the choice to die. i dont know what to think of that.

but most importantly i have no strings attached to this anymore. i dont know where he is now and i have no way to reach him. so yeh.
You are a terrible person for not trying to prevent a potential suicide when you had the chance. Here's a tip for the next time you're about to walk away from someone who is contemplating swallowing a pile of pills or drinking themselves to death: someone who wants to kill himself is not logical or rational.
He's not a f*ckin terrible person, it was his manager not his brother.

Don't say things like that to the man, he's just giving his side of the story.

Beat him while he's drunk.
Severely.
Then shock him everytime he as much as looks at a bottle of beer.
Behavorial Psychology will play in after a bit.

That's a matter of perspective.
Technically, it is his life.
He can do whatever he pleases with it.
Whose to say he couldn't just end it right now?

You cannot save people from themselves.

I understand that you want to help. But, in this kind of situation there is very little anyone can do.
