I still stick to the XKCD password genteration system. [http://xkcd.com/936/]
I look around my room and pick the funniest hybrids and make it into a password.

Most of mine are at maximum character limits and can be typed out in a couple seconds since they are conventional word combinations.

So I have XKCD to thank for that. Plus I like to think someone will know this and sit in my room trying to break into my PC by typing in combinations of everything they see.

People never learn... Where's that xkcd strip about passwords? I'll find it later, but logical wacky passwords work better than passwords that may just have been generated out of a computer.

EDIT- Ah, here we are:

The irony is kind of palpable.

I'm proud to say that my password is actually unique. I guarantee no one has it.

30 characters FTW?
Hmmmm..."my password is actually unique" happens to be 30 characters long...
Crap... CRAP...

CHANGE ALL THE PASSWORDS NAO! D:

Ha, my passwords are always unique.

I remember the ultimate password based on the longest game title I have ever heard! Not telling.
Is it "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! A reckless disregard for gravity?"

How is it that '123456' and '12345678' are in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, whilst '1234567' lags behind in 13th? 13th!
6 and 8 character limits are the most common, people do bare minimum.

OT: anyone who sets their password to any of these can't complain when their account get's hacked.

I'm glad to say none of those are passwords I use. Although, I do re-use some of my passwords a bit too often. I have about 6-7 passwords I use for most things. I tend to shake up my usernames more than my passwords.
You kinda have to this day and age. I have a quick-to-type password that I use for stuff that doesn't really matter if it gets leaked (oh teh noes, don't steal my Escapist account), meanwhile important stuff like my email and WoW account (gotta protect my epix!) have their own unique passwords.

Does nobody use 654321? It's as easy to remember and type, and apparently many orders of magnitude safer.

I simply generate a long random password for every site. There are 335 of them now in my KeyPass database.

I tried to use "penis" as my password once.
It said my password choice was too short.

Actually I find the best passwords are acronyms.
ie: "tbontbtitq"

A string of random letters is hard to remember, a famous line from Shakespeare is not.

123456? That's the same password I have on my luggage!
The perfect reference.
I just use the same password for all my non-essential stuff, and unique catchy passwords for the important things. Previous addresses is a good one, since there's an in built random number, and road names can be really weird.

I can't believe how common Password is used, and 12345678? Really?

I mean how absurdly stupid is this. Makes me want to try hacking in to people's shit.

I mean, it's not really that hard to make up and memorize an 8 digit alphanumeric code people.

I have only two passwords I use for everything, one is six alphanumeric characters and is somewhat easy to guess (use it on stuff around the house, things that I want to log into quickly and am not too worried about falling in the wrong hands outside of a drunken friend), the other is 8 and I use for everything else, but it's a randomly generated code I have memorized (used to be my mom's password for everything, probably still is, I used to e-snoop her around christmas to get a peak at my gifts, weird how the future works yeah?).

I only use ONE password for everywhere. It's a video game title for a game I wanted and now have. Now that I have it I have no clue how I remember the password as the game name isn't drilled into my skull anymore.

That's a terrible, terrible way to do things. Password repetition is even worse than having simply bad passwords. If someone managed to guess your one password they would have complete and total access to basically all your online accounts. You should really think about changing all your passwords.

You probably also shouldn't have given everyone here such a big clue to what password is either. Telling us it's the title for a game you own isn't a great way to keep it a secret.

Longest movie title would be better.
