Hey folks. So lately I've been getting a bit paranoid about things such as keyloggers and fake sites, so whenever I go on to a website that wants my login information such as this one or hotmail, I always type in a fake password first, hit enter, then type in the real one.

A) Would that even help?
B) Do you guys do it also?

I never do that.
I know all the sites I visit are relatively safe, and most have a secure connection thingy for logging in.

Not sure if it would help either.

I have the same password for everything, but I randomly capitalise different letters and include random numbers in parts of it, so it's never the exact same.

Also, a friend of mine just has a mile-long code that he relies on muscle memory to enter. Hilarious to see him get it wrong and panic

I am not convinced that would help. Your best defence against malware/keyloggers is to have good practices online, use script blocking add ons and run regular malware sweeps.

I have the same 3 passwords for most sites. Random words, names and my favourite: astronomical terms. Like <url=http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/C/2007_E2_%28Lovejoy%29>C/2007 E2... just remember the trivial name and google the rest, if necessary.
