Whatever, just wash your hands.
Apparently Patton Oswalt will be joining the cast of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic for a guest spot in an upcoming episode. Joining the ranks John De Lance, Weird Al, and Lena Hill, as stars who have had guest spots on the show.

Makes sense. His daughters really into it, and he does a comedy bit where he claims he doesn't understand the appeal while basically reciting the overall plot of the entire thing and the intricacies of all the characters and the world.

Here's a shorter version of the bit.

And it's not uncommon for famous people to jump at the chance to get in on an IP their kids watch. That appears to be how half of the adult cast in Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were roped in.

In anycase, I'm not into the actual MLP show (Though I'm totally in on Brony culture, if only because the rage it invokes is delightful), but still, neat. It'll be a perfect trifecta if they can somehow work in his obsession with Star Wars.

Patrick Stewart is so talented, I don't know why he isn't in every thing.

I'd love to hear him do the voice acting on some animated villain.

Who'd get beaten within twenty minutes because screw recurring villains. And Starlight Glimmer does not count. Nor does Trixie. A recurring villain is just that: a villain that makes repeated appearances, but stays a villain.

Fuck that, he should be Starswirl the Bearded!

It's been a while since I watched MLP, but is that Discord fellow still around? If so, if Patrick Stewart shows up he has to make constant Star Trek references with Discord. It is the only way.

Oh! OH SNAP! Someone call Hasbro and tell them to get on this now! He'd be PERFECT for Celestia and Luna's teacher!

Yeah, Discord's still around. And you're right. If they do manage to get Patrick Stewart on the show, I'm sure the staff would find some way to have the two interact as some sort of nod to their past roles.

Something simple would be perfect. Like assuming its a 'Starswirl in the modern times' type scenario, have Discord offer to have tea with Starswirl. And just have him say something like "Cup of Earl Grey? I remember that was always your favorite."
That's be so simple to write in and be such a fun little nod.

Or when Twilight asks "Wait, you two know each other?" have Starswirl say "Oh we met years ago at Far Off Point just beyond Yonder Hill." as a nod to the Farpoint mission where Picard meets Q.

And of course when the great plan of the episode is formed, Discord just says 'Engage' and Starswirl grabs his beard and snarls 'That's my line'.

He already has, at least twice off the top of my head.

I swear they give cameo/ minor roles to any celebrities for having connection to the show one way or another! Not complaining of course, I just noticing it like Al Weird was interested when someone made an pony AMV with his song and Lena Hall became a brony from marathoning it to the point of reference it in her speech and now this!

Well, it's a Win-Win for everyone involved. The celebrity gets to do something, the fans get an impressive performance, and the show gets a pretty big advertisement boost, along with, presumably, a relatively budget easy cameo (As opposed to, say, dumping a quadrillion dollars on Harrison Ford just to get him to show up for Star Wars, a franchise of which the only joy he gets from participating is obscene gobs of money and making fun of it).

I suppose one can see it as the shows team are rewarding/ offering the celebrity interested at the show to have a role in in the show which is good of them. I mean would you turned down to be involve in a game you liked unless you're super busy?

Cool! He already does that with We Bare Bears, but now it will matter as much as a Star Wars filibuster!

Other than that, will his character have a song?

Nice. I'm not too familiar with his work, but I've seen enough of it to know that he has a firm grip on geek culture. I think it's safe to say that FiM falls within that sphere at this point.

Holy shit. I would pay good money to see a movie like that. I would probably go watch it in theaters twenty times.

I know, right?

Unfortunately, this is as close as we'll ever get.
