The Escapist gave both Colors and Sonic 4 good reviews, don't see your point.Shivarage said:"Sega's upcoming Sonic Generations looks like it's going to continue the recent (excellent) trend of quality hedgehog videogames."Vanguard_Ex said:This doesn't really apply since he didn't make the game...Shivarage said:Self praise is no praise
He didn't write the article either...

The article is FAR to obnoxious and biased to just be his opinion... if he was even a tiny bit modest then I would have thought it was his humble opinion but nope... nobody goes all out overpraising without a payoffj-e-f-f-e-r-s said:Because Heaven forbid that Sega might be continuing the recent trend of making good Sonic games again, and the writer may indeed have enjoyed himself playing the game. Nope, it absolutely must be bribery. That's the only explanation that makes sense.
One sentence... and he was very vague, hardly a saintly sentiment therej-e-f-f-e-r-s said:Firstly, he's saying the game is fast-paced and fun. Hardly a proclamation for this as game of the decade. Secondly, he's saying the visuals are good. And they are. I've seen gameplay from this game, and the graphcis are top-notch. That's hardly a revelation though. The engine that Sega's been using for the recent Sonic games is one of the few things that people will heap unanimous praise on. Look at Sonic Colors on the Wii if you want an idea of how good it can look.
However, the other thing that is included in that quote, and what you seem to have missed in your crazy, conspiracy-fuelled paranoia, is criticism. The writer explicitly states "I did encounter an area where the fixed camera was a little bit of a hindrance". Therefore, his praise is not without some reservations, and he is not trying to present the game as flawless. Instead, he is trying to report on the game as he found it, and seeing as how he has played the game, and none of us have, I see no reason to question the validity of his statements.
In short, you sir are an arse. I normally try to refrain from name calling, but the fact that you decided to slag off the very writer of this article with unfounded, hyperbolic claims based on no real reasoning or logic, means that I have no reservations on calling you what you are. Which in this case, sir, is an arse.
Good news:Haseo21 said:I'm gonna be pissed if they slaughtered the original City Escape design as well as the soundtrack.
If anything Generations' City Escape design is a huge improvement over Adventure 2, SA2's City Escape was very linear, Generations' City Escape while linear, has a lot more side-paths and open areas. You can get a good feel just by looking at the first downhill boarding section, SA2's was a linear path with some 90º turns, Generations' has lots of shortcuts and even a whole new road that serves as a side-path.Haseo21 said:I'm gonna be pissed if they slaughtered the original City Escape design as well as the soundtrack.
While I am loving how it looks right now, I'm a little disappointed at how Sonic sounds. A small gripe I realise but he just doesn't sound enthusiastic anymore, at least the old voice actor had that.Jabberwock xeno said:EDIT:

I Major Respect for you for beating Shadow the Hedgehog without using a gun I couldn't even get past the first levelTheswweet said:I went through Shadow the Hedgehog without firing a weapon, except for bosses.
It was bearable, but it was nowhere near as good as even heroes!
Well, the idea is to combine both old and new games into a best of compilation of the Sonic Series.Justanothergamer300 said:I Major Respect for you for beating Shadow the Hedgehog without using a gun I couldn't even get past the first levelTheswweet said:I went through Shadow the Hedgehog without firing a weapon, except for bosses.

The only problem I have with Generations is that they can't reimagine and include every level, so we're going to miss out on some
Wonder why they included the boost for the boarding part of the level. Just feels unnecessary for that part of the 3D segmentJabberwock xeno said:Who wants a video of the whole level in generations? Starts about 2 minutes and 30 seconds in.
Indeed. But then again that's probably due to the stage number. In SA2, City Escape was the first stage in the Hero story - hence why it was so linear, and simple. On the other hand, in Generations, City Escape is the (supposedly) fifth stage. Which is why it has a more complex and interesting level design. If you wanted to compare first stages, a better comparison would be between Modern Green Hill and the original City Escape. But, other than that nitpick, I am sure looking forward to play the new version of the stage. Especially with the new level design and remixed music.DustArma[]If anything Generations' City Escape design is a huge improvement over Adventure 2, SA2's City Escape was very linear, Generations' City Escape while linear, has a lot more side-paths and open areas. Yeah, I wish they could had more levels but then again, it would probably take a lot more time for the game to be complete though. Leave more levels to Sega's DLC, and the modders in the PC-version. Then the game will be able to beat SA2 and/or Unleashed for best 3D-Sonic game.Justanothergamer300 said:I Major Respect for you for beating Shadow the Hedgehog without using a gun I couldn't even get past the first levelTheswweet said:I went through Shadow the Hedgehog without firing a weapon, except for bosses.
