this is what i have at the moment. feel free to mix and match whats there, or just replace it entirely :) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1nLTY

i need a pc thats from $500 - $700, it doesnt have to be beastly, it just has to play games OK on low-medium settings, it just has to have a good framework to add on & upgrade as i get the money for it, i already have a monitor, so no worries there.

Since you've got a bit more potential budget to play with I'd definitely scrap the i3 and get a 3570 [http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80637i53570]. If you want this build to last you a while you're going to end up with bottlenecks in the future with an i3 and you'll just have to replace it later. Also, the 610 suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. It's good for just running an OS and watching video but what it's not for is gaming...definitely consider getting something a bit more appropriate. Also do you really need a Blu-Ray drive? You could probably save a bit of cash by dropping that. It's not like it'll do you any good since it doesn't appear to be bundled with any Blu-Ray playing software (e.g. PowerDVD or TotalMedia Theatre). If you have to buy something like that separately it's going to set you back a bit (like $100)...it's cheaper to just have a standalone Blu-Ray player. Also I personally went with this board [http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z77pro4] since it supports more memory over dual channels even if it's a little pricier. It won't make any difference when you've only got one stick in there but it will perform better when both channels are being used. Speaking of memory, the 1600mhz equivalent [http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-khx1600c9d34g] only costs a few bucks more considering the sale on the other appears to be over (even if the price hasn't been updated on the PC Part Picker website).

As above I would go for an i5 and up the grfx card, in addition I would drop the hard drive down to 2tb and up the memory to 8Gb of the 1600mhz(as Snowy suggests)
