Oh man...what I would do with a $6,000 dollar PC...
Search for porn, browse webcomics, and post on the Escapist?
I'd have sex with it.
... Shut up, i'd find a way.
I think this is where, traditionally, someone posts a link to a USB peripheral.
Found it.

Goddamn the Chinese be crazy.

I cannot believe what that simple comment spawned... thank you for the laughs.

Also, I would probably do things like run supcom with 3 monitors and a T.V. - and of course, that happy humper would be right in the USB.

My $1.5k machine can run pretty much anything on max, including Crysis, without being laggy. I think this guy is exaggerating juuuuuust a little.

You forgot to mention WHEN you bought it. Saying you bought a 1.5K machine today does not have the same default specs as one two years ago of the same price. For those of us with the latter it could cost 600 on up to replace our old rig, or just the price of a new console to upgrade (assuming one updates infrequently)

It's always nice when a developer tells you what you've been screaming at them for years.
I don't care if my game has the latest high definition, normal mapping, fong-shading and whatever other mystical doodads are out there, I want a game that runs smoothly and plays well. When did developers lose sight of this?

DeadlyYellow: As technology evolves, so will games. New things are constantly being tried, things are always being improved. Isn't this what we want in the industry? I much prefer innovation and progress over stagnancy for the sake of people who can't afford to update. If you are on an "old rig", you won't be able to play new games. It's like complaining that you can't play Gears of War on your Sega Genesis.

As an FYI though, I did get my PC 2 years ago, and it works fine. I've only had to get more RAM so far, which isn't that costly. There isn't a need to "constantly" update. I have a vid card and processor that were top of the line 2 years ago and they're still damn good. If you invest now, you will get your money's worth. A new PC will last a pretty long time.
