Well, last night I was REALLY drunk, like a bottle of wine and a big bottle of whiskey drunk. When I woke up this morning I'd realised that I'd gone utterly bat poo crazy on msn and ended up sending total crap to my ex like about how much I still liked her, and some kinda suicidal stuff, then posting almost as bad crap on facebook and generally making a total tard of myself. Needless to say I've learned an important lesson, that being drunk in charge of a PC can be a really dangerous thing. I'm seriously considering hooking up a breathaliser to my PC, so if I ever want to go on msn or have any kind of social contact and am over the limit, big alarms would go off, then it'd shut down and maybe chuck cold water at me.
Anyone else ever had an experience like this? Or even better anyone want to help me design this possibly life saving device?

I remember reading a conversation where my roommate stated he was drinking to punish his liver then began to scold his liver rather humorous actually

I don't know, this device would take away all the hilarious drunk messages I get from people. However, if you wanted to make it, you could probably make it a usb device (as usb can pretty much power anything normally powered by 2 AA batteries with a very simple mod). The hard part would be the software.

I've never actually been drunk so I've never been in a case like this (not because I'm a coward, because I'm like, stupidly heavy weight). I have done things like this when I've NOT been drunk though. Sort of. Maybe not to the magnitude that involves suicide, but I've definitely said things I shouldn't have to ex-partners.

I can't remember where I heard this, but I think it's google who are trying out a new system that uses questions of increasing difficulty that need to be answered by you, before you send a message to a specific address. So, if you're totally shit-faced, and you can't answer the first question, it makes you wait before you try to answer the second question. If anyone else has heard of this and has a like, I'd be ever so grateful.

First year on university, combined with Facebook did this for me... the 'Sent Messages' folder is worse than any hangover.

*Starts researching possibly great idea* Still, I don't know whether it would work 100%, I generally do pretty well on pub quizzes.

Can't remember anything particularly horrible I've done while drunk.

I've had a GF complain that I'm overly mean (making fun of her) while I was drunk in a few instances. Considering we were together for a long time after that I doubt it was a big deal.

I've had the urge to do what the OP mentioned, but always resist by doing something else. I've never been able to identify with people that lose all control while drinking.

If I remember it correctly, it's a little tougher than simple pub trivia. Some are timed questions, others are like the Field Sobriety Test here in the states, kinda like, say the alphabet backwards, count down from 100 by two's starting at 99, you know, questions that are easily answered while sober, but meant to confuse when drunk.

Google's drunk test is just math questions. I think you can set the difficulty though. I saw some that looked like calculus questions but that could've been shopped.

Anyways:

Wow, I might actually get that, and I might look into writing a similar program for MSN, because that's where I tend to say stupid things.

My girlfriend actually stated that I was saying stuff that I can't remember saying one night when I came home and spoke to her through Yahoo Messenger. The conversation ended when I got reacquainted with my dinner. I then promptly shut the computer down and cleaned up my mess. Lucky for me, I did that. The hangover was a LOT less severe after I've slept it off.

Oh god, that's horrible, I've only once gotten drunk and then stumbled onto forums, msn and the like - it wasn't that bad. But the older brother of PC-DUI - Drunk-dialing has made my already horrible hang-over mornings absolutely stomach-churning.
