I'm looking for a new game to keep me occupied over some of the summer for the pc, preferably a fps or rpg. Keep in mind my computer can only handle games with specs similer to oblivion's.

so far I've enjoyed

Kotor 1 and 2
Oblivion
Halo:CE
SW:Battlefront 1 and 2
SW:Republic Commando
Dungeon Siege 2 and the expansion
Swat4

Deus Ex, Morrowind, Baldur's Gate/Baldur's Gate 2, STALKER: SoC, Vampire Bloodlines. All of these are deep, complex, and rewarding games that you will replay again and again and again. You should have no trouble running any of them.

Starcraft & Brood War (Expansion)
Diablo 2
Battlefield 2
Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne (Expansion)
Morrowind
Deus Ex
Half Life 1
Orange Box
__________
You should be able to run most of these games, as they were all released a few years ago.

There are an absolute wealth of PC games out there, some of which are almost two decades old.
NetHack, for one.
Beat it, and you're a true gamer.

Its like beating Ninja Gaiden on the NES in terms of gamer-repute...
Except you can get into some really weird situations, like being trapped in a room with dosens of incubi and succubi, all while constantly changing species and gender...

Baldur's Gate - any of them, they are RPGs with a fairly interesting story line and I've been able to play them on any of my machines (none of them are that up to date) and you can pick them up cheap.

Thief - you might have to dial back a few things to get the first two to work but they are quite enjoyable FPS style games if you forgive the graphics.

Fallout, Fallout 2
Painkiller
Starcraft + Brood War
FEAR
Condemned
Quake Live

You can get the Fallouts for $6 apiece and Painkiller for $10 from GOG.com with no DRM, and that includes stuff like Fallout soundtracks.
Quake Live is free.
