i know that there arent many PC gamers left. Sadly, I am one of this declining "Master Race" (Yahtzee said that). I love my PC. I love playing games on my PC and in my opinion no console is ever going to be better than a PC (ironic, since I have a PS3 and ride it nearly everyday...). Of course, I get attacked because of this. People call me noob and stupid all the time that I love my PC. But I dont care!!! What are your thoughts about PC gaming? (Warning: to any console lover who wishes to call me a noob, i've heard it all so if you've got nothing intelligent to say other than insults don't post!!!)

PC gaming is better, but people would rather choose something less time consuming and more user friendly for their gaming purposes. Whenever I think of this, I become horribly depressed...then I take a shot of whiskey and play Wii Fitness.

Preferring a console over the PC is OK. Attacking you for preferring the PC is typical console fanboyism. Don't pay any attention to them.
I love both the PC and consoles. I don't have any of the new consoles, but "Ol' Reliable" (that's my PS2) is still played nearly every day in my house. However, if I were to pick, I'd go with the PC.
I love strategy games and shooters, among other things. That kind of thing is meant to be played with a mouse and a keyboard. One advantage is that if I were to play, say, a racing or sports game on the PC, I can hook up a gamepad to play properly. However, I don't think any console games can be played with a mouse and keyboard.

Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuut?

I've never heard console gamers bash PC gamers, only the other way around.

PC gaming is great...It's my main medium of game-age too be honest. I have got a PS3/360 but their run time is nowhere near that of my PC.

Mainly cause on here my main source of digital crack is available, if I die whilst S&Ding I can alt tab and browse the vast virtual fields of porn...er, I mean knowledge.

My media player has hot key's on my keyboard so I can easily pause my tunes if I need to listen for them footsteps.

I could go on but I really should hit the hay...

Bonified PC Gamer Enthusiast here. i freakn LOVE PC gaming. and in my honest opinion, it exceeds far beyond consoles. I spare no expense on my Rig. i would say that my rig has at least a $5000 value with the parts that are in it. so yea, PC Gaming FTW!!

plus..you can't play Diablo games anywhere else. (Diablo 1 for PSX doesn't count)

I'm a PC gamer, through and through. You can't play RTS's on a console, and that's the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so.

If anyone ever bashes you or PC gaming at all, it's because you say that. That attitude is really annoying for everyone who doesn't feel like spending $600 extra just so he can play Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing

I love my pc for gaming, there are some real classics and a few decent games on the horizon atleast diablo 3 and sc 2 so i can get excited, also love the face that i can emulate all my old consoles/games bit of a retro gamer myself. But do I prefer it to consoles well yes, only own a ps2 for the nostalgia not paying for a ps3 until the games library is abit more rounded out.

I'm primarily a PC gamer, but definately not exclusively. I can appreciate a console, I simply prefer PC's. Currently I don't have a gaming PC so i've been playing on the Xbox360 a lot.

All the hate towards other platforms is pointless and stupid, whichever side is saying it.

Oh, I forgot to add.
Consoles don't have The Curse of Monkey Island. Therefore, the PC wins, forever.
End of thread.

Since RTS, RPG, and MMORPG are my favorite genre's, it's easy to see why I couldn't care less for consoles.

Okay, I wanna know where all this shit between PC and console gamers began. It's so friggan' pointless. It seems like people like to be pricks to each other, and gamers are no different. Whether they be Halo fans or Half Life players, we are all gamers! Let us unite in our ability to gain pleasure from gaming, and strike down those who would divide us with petty fanboyism and console wars......

...and Jack Thompson. We can all agree that we hate him, right?

I've only ever been about the PC; I just don't see the appeal of consoles beyond being for "casual gaming". I'm not a casual gamer, I'm an enthusiast, but I don't see why anyone would want to play games with worse graphics, worse controls and watered-down gameplay when, with just a little know-how, one could be playing with better controls, graphics and gameplay.
One could argue that a console is cheaper, but in the long run I'm not sure that this is true.

Quoting Yahtzee in an intended to be humourous way isn't aggronant, you lowly unwashed peasant /Joke.

Anywho, yeah, PC gamer here. I generally feel the games on the PC have more depth to them that the console ones (see Deus Ex (PC first, eventually to PS I think) vs Deus Ex 2 (built for console and PC together)). However, in these days of multiplatform gaming, it seems increasingly to me to me that that advantage is fading - eventually, I suspect all game consoles will be replaced by the Wii, and PC gaming will be limited to online flash games. It'll be a dark, grim future of WiiSport 8, WiiFit 4, and Super Mario Multiverse (Actually, that last one would probably be good).

PC gaming is ideally suited to anything that's complex. You can't be accurate in selecting RTS troops, or upgrading RPG stats, or firing an FPS sniper rifle on a console.

I have no problems with consoles, hell, I still play my N64, now that was a beast of a system. But for me it's PC gaming all the way whenever possible. They're much more versatile than consoles.

RTS, RPG, MMORPG. Yeah.

Guess which "console" I am using? And planning to use...

Oh, and FPS games. I prefer mouse so much to the strange and unwieldy controller.

The only thing I would play on console over a PC would be a fighting game. And I'm not a big fang of fighting games anyways... And if I wasn't lazy, I'd still play it on PC with a joystick or a controller of some kind.
Same with me on all points, heh. Especially as I can't overcome the right-handed controllers for consoles (Leftie here)

Well seeing as you referred to PC gamers as a master race, even in a quote, doesn't it imply you think YOU'RE better than THEM?

To be honest I'm sick of pretentious PC gamers calling me idiotic because I can't afford to get a high end computer which runs games, seeing as I'm forced to pay for all of my own gaming related items. I'm surprised my parents even pay for the electricity I use.
