I much prefer playing games on a PC, mainly because that was my starting platform I guess. But also the fact that there are so many opportunities for hardware expansion, different game genres due to control differences (I'm looking at you RTS), and plain different uses for a PC.

I, like others in this thread, much prefer PC gaming as well.

The mouse and keyboard are God for me, they're just part of how I play, I'm not conscious of their existence.

I really enjoy the customization afforded by PC gaming. Honestly, a gaming rig isn't that much money. If you're going to make/get a new computer, just put a good video card in it and you're set for a few years.
Conversely, PC gaming is expensive to remain on the cutting edge, that's for sure.

I think a lot of "PC is superior to console" talk comes from the new generation spouting how Halo has revolutionized the FPS and is the best game ever. All the while PC gamers sit and cry at all the fantastic and great games they missed out on. This could naturally be said about a lot of games.

Additionally, I like my games to be quite complicated with a lot of depth. Many console games simply don't have that, and the ones that do aren't very much fun.

So do I think PC gaming is better than consoles? Absolutely, but I would NEVER spit it someones face for holding a different opinion from me.

...what? PC gamers? OH! RIGHT! Sorry. No, I don't care for it because in order to play the games I'm into on my laptop I'd have to go out and buy a brand new laptop with high end graphics and sound cards and processing power from 5 years into the future. Basically, it's easier to play on a console than the laptop or desktop.

The PC is my preferred platform but I don't mind consoles, I don't have a gaming PC right now so i'm playing on the Xbox360 a lot.

All the competition annoys me really, they both have their pros and cons, and everyone has different preferences... I like to see the best of both worlds. But yes, the PC is my primary platform.

A few rumors that annoy me though:

- No, it's not dying.

- No, it doesn't have to be expensive unless you want the best of the best hardware. And you only need a mid-range rig to play absolutely ANY game out there. (I played and finished Crysis on my previous pile-of-shit computer with a 7600GS video card that cost me about £20)

- The PC still gets plenty of games. The best games on the consoles are out on the PC too; and we get great exclusives.

- No, we're not all elitist d*cks

- And no, we don't all play those boring RTS's ;)

PC gaming better for someone like me who likes there games a bit more "adult." However, console gaming is waaaay handier, but its not for me.

I agree with you bro. But I hardly think Halo has revolutionized FPS. Half Life did

I've always loved PC gaming more.
-Better graphics
-More horsepower
-More customization in both software and hardware.
-MODS!!!
-Better controls
-In games where M&KB aren't best(fighting games), you can plug in a controller
-Most PC exclusives just tend to be better games to me *ignores Big Rigs Racing*.
-There tends to be a more mature community in general(compare what you hear in TF2 voice chat on the PC to what you hear people saying on the 360 version).

I love playing games on PCs, but I magically destroy all my electronic equipment so I don't do it as much as I would like to, my gaming computer is broken at the moment and I have to diagnose and fix it.

I'm a PC gamer too. That said, I've never really been involved with the console wars.

But all the time, I get dragged into "this game is better" or "this game sucks because of this game" >_>

I don't think Halo revolutionized anything either, I just said a lot of people seem to claim that. For me, Half-Life was the first really cinematic FPS game. It holds a very special place in my heart.

Exactly there was only one Half-Life anything they did after was just imitation no matter how good the game was or how much publicity it received

PC gaming is no different to console gaming. What consoles have over PCs though is a massive and unified marketing campaign for each of them. PCs do not.

This is why the PC is 'dyeing'.

PC gaming however will never die. It's where the games are made in the first place.

i know that there arent many PC gamers left. Sadly, I am one of this declining "Master Race" (Yahtzee said that). I love my PC. I love playing games on my PC and in my opinion no console is ever going to be better than a PC (ironic, since I have a PS3 and ride it nearly everyday...). Of course, I get attacked because of this. People call me noob and stupid all the time that I love my PC. But I dont care!!! What are your thoughts about PC gaming? (Warning: to any console lover who wishes to call me a noob, i've heard it all so if you've got nothing intelligent to say other than insults don't post!!!)
If anyone ever bashes you or PC gaming at all, it's because you say that. That attitude is really annoying for everyone who doesn't feel like spending $600 extra just so he can play Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing
Then spend the same amount as any other console to get older, overall better exclusives that still work with today's PC software, like Diablo, or Starcraft, or the Grim Fandango. All of these will play on a $400 computer.

If you're a fellow graphics whore, however, spend $1000 on good computer parts and build your own system.

By the way, Big Rigs doesn't exist. That car wreck never happened. I'm in total denial.
My computer cost me roughly 300 dollars and I can play any game from 2008-2009 on relatively decent or high settings at good FPS.
