This can work, like with Team Fortress 2. But to deny a single-player mode for no good reason is a bad idea.

It's not "Neverwinter Nights Online", it's "Neverwinter Online".

As far as I know, the Neverwinter Nights 3 plans are still open. Anyone's guess as to when we might see that.

"Neverwinter Online" is being made by Cryptic, so frankly.. who gives a damn about this game. It's using 4th Edition rules with only about 5-6 classes.. horrid. It's going to be a content-less craptastic cash-shop nightmare. They'll probably have Drizzt as a general store merchant, who will sell you the ability to use the forward key for 1 dollar, and other such tomfoolery.

MMOs are a phase and one that is pretty bad for the industry, the trouble is all the money men behind developers and publishers look at WoW which is a colossal money making machine and they think "We want one of those!" and so the developers have to make one... which inevitably flops because everyone is still playing WoW.

Its a phase that they will grow out of once they realise that WoW is not something that can be replicated without some new mystery ingredient X that will blow everyone away.. and that hasn't turned up yet. Plus they will get tired of sinking $100mil or whatever into flopping MMO's

This will surely crash and burn. Let's just hope that it doesn't bring the entire PC gaming industry down with it. Not like I actually buy new PC games because of a crap PC but still...

Everyone wants to be Blizzard and everyone wants their game to be WOW. From a logical business stand point I can understand that. As a gamer I hate it. Don't worry too much about PC games, there are still Eastern Europeans making interesting (if sometimes flawed) games for PC.

I died inside when I heard KOTOR was going MMO. Such a bloody shame.
I think they were like "Well Blizzard made WoW off of an RTS, why can't we make an MMO off an RPG".

Horray! I was worried there for a second.
