I can't seem to find any decent ones anymore. They're all either online multiplayer fantasy shitballs, or offline single player fantasy shitballs.
Honestly.
Has anyone played anything good for the PC lately?

Edit: I'm not too fond of first-person shooters..that limits things considerably.

Sins of a Solar Empire
Company of Heroes(GET THIS GAME)
Homeworld 2
Freelancer
Medieval 2(the mods for this game like Third Age:Total War make getting the game worth it even if you have no intention of playing the base game)
Galactic civilizations 2

That is one extensive list, and I agree with all of them. Going to suggest Battlefield Heros though (because it's free), and Command and Conquer, But try and get the older ones made by Westwood, before EA did questionable things to the franchise...

Thanks for the list~
I didn't know half of these were available on PC. Left 4 dead? GTA? had no idea
Anyway
I haven't played Age of Empires 3. I can imagine it's pretty good..I think I'll try that one. Maybe Bioshock after. I read somewhere that it looked pretty.
Isn't Team fortress that shooter game..? I think I've more or less played the rest of those already.

GTA's are from the PC originally so of course they are ported. you need a decent machine for 4 though. and Left 4 Dead is ment to be played on the PC if you have the option of both 360 and PC to play it on.
Oh and TF2 is the one of the most funny shooters ever, I generally dont play multiplayer FPS games but this game has me hooked :)

Would be nice if you could specify a genre or something specific you want.

The list earlier was great though, thumbs up.

Oh, and Team Fortress 2 is the most fun you will ever have in an online game. If you like shooters, definitely try it out.

I play some L4D (not extremely new but survival is fun), played some good flash games.

*Guys he said anymore, we all know Diablo 2 is good but i think he means the non-existent new games
I've played L4D on xbox at my friends house, but in general, I'm not really that much of a shooter-game person
By 'anymore' I think I was saying 'games I haven't beaten yet'
Which is a lot

Diablo 2 is not one of them, though, I've had that for years

Even though you said no fantasy. I would add Knights of the Chalice. Try out the demo that was released www.heroicfantasygames.com

Yes, I have heard lots of good things about that.

But I have to agree with some of the others, if you could specify a genre you would prefer that would certainly be helpful. But the list that is already given is very good.

I would actually add the some of the Total War series, namely Rome, Medieval 2 and Empire (although give the last one a bit of time to be patched up properly). I also got a huge amount of fun from the games from Paradox, namely Europa Universallis 3 and Hearts of Iron 3, although these are very hardcore strategy games and it would probably be best if you play some more simple ones before moving onto those two titans.

In terms of adventure games, Grim Fandango surprisingly hasn't been mentioned yet. That is one of the best adventure games around, IMO.

Some games have a learning curve. Paradox games have a learning cliff. But once you get it (and I mean really get it), they're the best games out there. Europa Universalis 2 is probably the gentlest curve of any of the Pdox games I've played (and I've played every single one of them except for EU1) and makes a great starter for new players. (and if you like Paradox games, join the Paradox Fans Escapist usergroup!)
