So ya, I have myself a fun fighting now to play, during the late hours of the night. But now, I'm looking for a long last game that can make up for all that other time, when I'm not studying for college or doing something else. I hoping for a new RPG or RTS, but anything will do, even a new FPS.

And just saying before now: In those catergories already, I have all 4 main Fallout games, both Mass Effects, both Kotors, and such. While they were fine, in the past/before, I'm looking for a new addition to my collection.

I hope that helps, and I hope I can get some good help/suggestions with this. =D Thank you

LOTR: Battle for Middle-earth. I like the take on the genre even though C&C is better.

Has anyone tried Blood Bowl before? I saw it on sale at Gamestop a few days ago, but I couldn't tell if it was a more "Warhammer" style game, or a football game. And I've heard things about it going from good, to meh.

Play Starcraft if you haven't already.
I would also recommend noX if you can manage to find a copy of it

I think that blood bowl looks pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend it myself, but you may like different things than I do. However, judging by the games you said you own you probably don't. Watch this and see what you think.

From those Dow2 (Blood bowl is horrible, and Lost planet is meh) - if you happen to be able to get your hands on other games thoug, as recomended in another thread - go for Morrowind (basically the definition of good sandbox rpg) or Dark Messiah of Might and MAgic (the definition of good, storytelling rpg/action).

It's both a Warhammer game and a football game. It's turn based (it does have a realtime mode but it kinda sucks), and a lot of fun. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea though. The number of races are limited compared to the tabletop game (only 7 races to choose from vs 21 on tabletop), the singleplayer AI is pretty stupid, and it requires a bit of practice before you'll be able to win matches. If you like offbeat sports and/or strategy games, turn-based gameplay, and are not the type to throw a fit every time the dice don't go your way, it's certainly worth checking out.

Out of those three, I'd go with DoW2. Blood Bowl is cool too, but I haven't played Lost Planet: Colonies myself so I can't comment on it.

Well, if you liked Fallout 3, go and get Oblivion, even if its not as good. Other good RPGs include the Witcher, Vampires the Masquerade - Bloodlines, Dragon Age: Origins, Jade Empire and of course, Morrowind if you can stand the slightly old graphics (hint: just get some mods to fix that).

For RTS, you know what? I'm stumped too. I haven't found one I've genuinely liked in years, outside of the Total War series. If you haven't played those, at minimum get Rome and Medieval 2. Oh yeah, for something a bit more fun, try either the Anno (1404 and 1701) series or Majesty 2. Less competitive, but equally addictive.

As for other things like FPS, the severely underappreciated Starwars Republic Commando is always good. My favourite First-person view game to come out in a few years is still Mirror's Edge though. It might be ideal for your situation because you can replay levels after you finish the game to try to get best times, so it has high replayablity.
If you're willing to branch off into adventure games, try the revamped Tomb Raider series, Dreamfall (1+2), or even the PC port of Assassin's Creed which was pretty stable.

But if you really want a time-killer, the ultimate game has to be the Football Manager series by Sports Interactive. It can be played in a window, low on graphics, and unbelievably addictive. If you're not into soccer, I'm sure there are similar games for other sports.

TLDR:

TBS:
Kings bounty (+ expansion)
Age of wonders (Old but gold)

RTS:
DoW 1 (Multiplayer)
DoW 2 (Single player, and possible Multiplayer if you feel so inclined)
King Arthur - The Role-playing Wargame (Fantasy - Total war :p)
Supreme commander 1 (the second coming soon)
Sins of a solar empire (Maybe as good as MOO 2, that's saying something)
Rise of legends (Superb under-rated gem of gaming)

----

For turn based strategy, you can't get better than Kings bounty these days. Wikipedia it for its complete history but suffice to say the original laid the groundwork for the HoMM games. It also has an expansion that improves gameplay even more, though it does not make much innovation so try the original (remake) first to see if you like it.
Older TBS games worth trying are the "Age of wonders" series. Particularly the second installment. Good games from those times when you got serious gametime for your money.

On the RTS front I'd say that DoW 1 is good for multiplayer, but avoid it's single player campaigns like you'd avoid a shotgun blast to the head. DoW 2 is a complete overhaul game-wise, and it's kind of hit-miss. Either you like the style or you don't. I'd try DoW 1 first since it's more of a "classic" RTS

More modern games might include "King Arthur - The Role-playing Wargame", which is something like a Total war game but with fantasy elements. Do not let the name fool you, the only connection to the Arthurian legens are some place-names and characters. The rest is high-fantasy magic flinging.

Supreme commander 1 or sins of a solar Empire. Epic scale games that have a lot of tactical depth to offer a player. Supcom SP eats up quite a few hours of time and is well worth it (though a bit grind-y). Sins of a solar empire is for a more "expert" crowd. Since it lack a good tutorial or a campaign mode. The game itself though is brilliant if you are strategically inclined.

For "older" RTS games I'd warmly recommend Rise of legends. A game with genies, Aztec-inspired sun cannons and clockwork mechs. Can't get better than that.

Warlord's Battlecry 3 is a fantasy RTS RPG hybrid that features:

- a hero and small squad that carry over from battle to battle
- infinite levelling
- a long campaign mode
- infinite levelling
- over 10 races to choose from
- infinite levelling
- even more classes to choose from
- infinite levelling

It's old, it's cheap, it's not particularly pretty.
But it's a deep, balanced and fun RTS that allows you to sport a fully tuned hero character with a level in the 100s.

Not something many games have.

DoW2 jumped to my mind as soon as I saw the thread title. I definitely recommend it. It adds a dash of the Warcraft 3 hero formula to Relic's squad-based RTS gameplay, which works very well, especially in singleplayer. Multi is fun but matchmaking is a little awkward and there were balance issues as of the last time I played (several months ago).

Have you tried the Elder Scrolls Games? I prefer Morrowind over Oblivion, but they're still both great. Failing that, Sacred isn't bad, and it's very cheap. RTS, I guess Age Of Empires (number 2), I would suggest any Command And Conquer game. My friend says that that Star Wars RTS is really good, but I haven't tried it yet. Fable is a lot of fun, I hear good things about Dragon Age Origins. Try Borderlands? A lot of people seem to dislike the game, but I loved it so maybe you will to. I still play it, and it's great for LAN. I wouldn't suggest trying it online, but it's still very good single player. Plus, part RPG. I would assume you've played them, but I'll mention Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 1 and 2. Try Crysis? I enjoy that game. I would suggest Bioshock over anything, though be warned. It is not an RPG. Rainbow Six. Any of them after (including) Raven's Shield. All varying degrees of greatness, and Vegas 2 is a thing of beauty. May well become my favourite FPS, after I have a bit more time to play it.
