Basically what everyone else said although I'd get a big psu like an 800w and check reviews to make its reliable and not just on sale. It's not really necessary but makes expansion down the road less of an issue.

lol, no one can run planetside 2 at a decent framerate during heavy combat atm.
My $1000 PC that I built during thanksgiving never drops the frame rate in Planetside 2. It runs hotter during Planetside 2 than any other game, but that's about it.

If the OP's currency is american dollars or any currency worth more than that, I can help.

Ok, so by this mindset, he should just go for a kilowatt PSU and 32GB of RAM "because of expansion later".

It's a waste of cash. he's on a budget.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, since I'm fairly new to the whole thing. But shouldn't 600W easily cover it unless you plan to SLI/Crossifre? And there's something to be said for how much power things need decreasing as time marches on, efficiency improves along with performance.

16GB of RAM *could* be useful over 8GB, since RAM is cheap and bountiful and if you're like me and multitask a horrendous amount of stuff at once, but 32GB is overkill in the extreme.

Ignore anyone telling you to get 16 gigs of RAM. No one needs that much.
Yeah, you don't. It is, however, customary to get at least 20 boxes of Pop-tarts at the time of purchase.

Yeah dude, the PSU thing is exactly what I said.

And no, you don't need more than 8 unless you do heavy media stuff.

Okays, thanks for clarifying I didn't mean to just repeat what you had already said, kind of wanted to point out that a huge PSU isn't really necessary even for future proofing.

I know, 8GB is fine for gaming, I personally do some heavy duty media stuff as well so the extra RAM helps me out a lot.

SkarKrow basically said what I was thinking here. Wouldn't you need a bigger psu for duel cards? Would you ever? For the most part I agree with you on build specs though.

I've got an 850 currently which runs two overclocked GTX 580s and an overclocked i7-2600K at 4.7GHz.

Every single GPU that's in the latest generation from Nvidia (GTX 6--) is more efficient than the GTX 580 with the newly implemented Kepler Architecture. I never have to replace my 850 until it breaks, basically.

Put that in a spoiler lol. I don't want to have to scroll down for 9 years :)

Curious to see how this thread turns out since I've been considering building a good comp too.
